What a difference a year makes. On a side note, I almost shit when I saw the creator of this thread as I thought it was fresh, and not over a year old! Lol. Yikes.

I didn't get why people hated the Bruins. I thought they'd make the playoffs and thought guys like Hamilton were overrated as ****

Two words, Marchand and Lucic. That and people only wished their team would play that punch you in the face style.

Oh. I see that now. Okay, how 'bout two words: Hamilton and Lucic? As in losing both of them and with Chara another year older, I think for many that was enough to call for their downfall. They are proving that they still have some players on that team, plus Marchand putting I a career season certainly helps the cause.

Eriksson Marchand and Spooner stepped up in a big way this year.

Not to mention they got great value out of some of their younger players.

Krejci is having a solid yr (71pt pace over 82games), but he’s always been around that 65pt mark, he just had a terrible yr last yr to kill his value.

Plus it’s the Bruins, any Boston team is an easy target to hate. A lot of people said Tuuka Rask wasn’t as good as his numbers suggested and he was a product of his team. Lots said they should have found a way to keep Hamilton. Many just saw them as an old team.

I saw them as a Wildcard team, not this tho. Bergeron having a solid yr (61pts/69games). Good on Boston for not folding because they weren’t expected to do much, and for not having much “dirty controversy” with calls.

like i said above I don't think Hamilton was a loss at all. I think it was addition by subtraction.

This team was always going to be fine. Addition by subtraction by shipping off Looch. Marchand is scoring more than slew-footing and there you go, a competitive team. D is their weakness but with Rask in net they have a chance. Their coach is one of the best in hockey too. For once, as a Habs fan I could almost cheer for them.

Marchand's breakout this year reminds me a lot of Kesler's breakout with 41 goals in 2010/2011. Focusing less on the antics and more on stepping up as a leader.

This is an interesting comparison. I want both of these guys on my team heading into the playoffs. Just sayin'.

Theyve done nothing to make Magic or D&D any better since they bought them out.
