New Super-Unique Deep Dynasty Salary H2H:Pts/Straight Points Hybrid $$Spectacular!

Hello fantasy hockey fans!

I'm starting a new league with the following features:

-12 Teams, H2H Points w/Playoffs
-Semi-weekly matchups (set lineups twice a week, Mon and Fri)
-Each matchup is a double header, so each team is playing two games per period (and a total of 4 games a week). Approx. 82 game schedule for regular season.
-All teams make playoffs- top 6 slot into the first 6 spots in a traditional 8-bracket knockout, bottom 6 teams make up one big ‘wild card’ bracket.
-$50* Fee, 100% payout: 50% of prizes split between top 3 playoff finishers, 50% split between fantasy point totals throughout certain intervals of the season (e.g., most points from start of season to Nov 30, Dec 1 to Jan 31, etc.).
-23-player active roster sizes (20 starters, 3 reserves)
-10* player farm team
-Salary Cap (real-life cap hits).
-Anything tagged with an ** is being finalized by vote.

A little about me: I've run dozens of hockey pools for 15+ years. I'm also the proud commish of a 6th year roto keeper league. I fully intend for this league to be around for a long time, and I expect a similar level of commitment from other GMs. The first internet based hockey pool I joined was in 1996: the whole draft was done over ICQ, and all add/drops done by email for the commish to update our webpage.

Update:

-Added depravity cuts- for every prize won teams will be required to cut 1 extra non-minor leaguer, up to a maximum of 3 a year. (Keep 21/23 non-minor leaguers normally, up to 9 prizes to be won a year.
-Tweaked scoring a little bit.

We've added a couple of cool new things recently:

-All teams are given a ‘Team Page’ which contains team information, uniforms, logos, banners. and trophy cabinets. This team page is loaded automatically when a “Team Office” is clicked in the LHL Forums. The LHL “Media Office” may periodically request information from GMs and update this page. And upon request (send commish an email) GMs may gain access full access to their team pages (via Google docs) where they may update their own information and graphics.

-Following the inaugural seasons, GMs may nominate recently retired NHL players for induction to the Legendary Hockey Hall of Fame. Up to 3 players may be inducted every year, decided by league-wide nomination and polling. The ‘winners’ will have their numbers retired on the ‘Hall of Fame’ page on the league website, and also raised to the rafters alongside any championship banners on the team page where this player played the longest in the LHL.

Update:

-Fee is now tentatively $50 (down from $70), based on current consensus.
-Playoffs have been tweaked slightly- now playoffs have 3 scoring periods per week (normally 2/week in regular season). (1)Sun-Tues, (2)Wed-Thu, (3)Fri-Sat. Lineups can be set on the 1st day of each scoring period.

I should also mention some changes to the scoring/lineups that go something like this:

-20 total starters:
-’Core’(14) skaters: Wingers, Centers, Defensemen.
-You must have Wx5 Cx3 and Dx6 active during each lineup period. Total 14/20.
-’Specialist’(4) skaters: Powerplay Specialists, Penalty Killing Specialists, Enforcers.
-The PP, PK and Enf positions are designed to score about 5-10% less than ‘Core’ skaters. Each specialist category is scored differently and emphasizes different stats.
-You must choose 4 specialists for each lineup period, with no more than 2 of the same type.
-’Goalies’(2): Starting Goalie, Backup Goalie
-The main difference between Starting and Backup goalies is your starter will earn 1.5 points per win, and your backup will earn 0.75 points per win, and 0.25 points per game played.
-You must choose 1 starter and 1 backup each scoring period.
