I dont think he would be a bad fit there, but I also dont think Hitch is going anywhere anytime soon either.

Torts would probably be a good fit in EDM. If anyone needs to be screamed at, it's those EDM kids. Patrick Roy would also do wonders in that town as well, those players need to be inspired by fear.

Oh I agree, which is why I was giving a pipedream hope of having Torts come in as a replacement assistant since he's pretty much killed his reputation over the past few seasons. It'll probably never happen, but it gets you thinking.

I can't see the Blues management swapping out Hitch for Torts. They're too smart for that.

That's why in the article I said I'd want him only as an assistant coach (which will probably never happen).

Firing Hitch would be a bad idea at this juncture in St-Louis IMO.

Torts is a good fit on a young team like CGY (but they have Hartley so it's almost the same) or Dallas or Colorado teams like that (not suggesting as destinations, just as style of team and complexion of player group) . Maybe even the Islanders... teams that need to learn how to grow and play as a team, with almost no vets.

I think 80% of coaches would be a good fit in St. Louis - they have a great team. Torts would be a mistake - the Blues have a mature team.

I better fit would be Bylsma after he gets fired he should take the year off and then step in for Hitch when Hitch moves up to management.

I think Tortorella's ego is too big for him to be willing to sign on as an assistant coach.

I think it's more likely that he gets signed on to be an analyst somewhere like he did for TSN when he didn't have a job.

Also, considering he's still got a contract for 4 more years, I doubt he's in any hurry to head back to work.

Hopefully he returns to the TSN panel. I loved him on there, watching him bitch about The Quiz.
