Re: The Malazan Book of the Fallen
I have read the entire series, it is easily one of my favourites due to the sheer depth of the world and storyline he has created. There are old gods, new gods, ancient races, alternate realms, and mortals who become as powerful as a god through the series... it's just insane how he has created such a detailed world. There are also several side stories written by Ian C. Esslemont, who's writing style is not as detailed but they are good stories that tie into the main one written by Steven Eriksson. If you like fantasy on a grand scale, this is a great series. Definitely be good at skim reading or really love detail though.
