    Default Kane for Drouin+

I'm in a cap league (you can read about it here: http://hockey.dobbersports.com/index...tention-part-i ) and I'm put of it for this year. My roster is in my signature.
Basically, if a player hits UFA status (or doesn't sign 10 days before FA starts), you lose him. If a potential UFA signs before that, you get to keep him on that contract.
RFA's have different rules, but you can always keep them (though sometimes at a higher price than their actual cap hit).
Kane is on a pretty good deal for a star, but it runs out after next season and I could easily lose him for nothing.
I should be contending both next year and for a couple years after that.

I been discussing a trade of Drouin, a 10th-14th overall rookie pick (normal entry draft) a 10th-14th overall re-entry pick (all UFAs and anyone else released) and Ryder (who I would buy out, which takes him completely off the books for next season) for Patrick Kane and 1.5 million in cap space (roughly worth the re-entry pick in a normal trade).

Is it even worth considering right now?
Another thing worth mentioning is that I have to make room on my roster for Coyle in the next couple of days before he plays his 93rd game. This would open up a spot.

If I don't do this trade, I will have to do another or I will have to buy out one of my current forwards. Who would be a good candidate?

You could always buy out Gagner for the same reason why the Oilers want him dead. Outside of extreme cap concerns, I would not trade out Patrick Kane. This is a type of player that will never see the light of free agency and will probably be resigned a year in advance. Drouin would be the only true asset coming back to you in the orig trade. The draft pick and re-entry pick are rather worthless.

Ya, I was hoping that he would be part of the Oiler's resurgent offence. Not so much..
It would cost 5.7 million to buy him out (he has a cap of 4.8).
Here are the rest of his assets:

I do have some cap concerns. The year Kane gets a new contract, I will have to deal with raises (and possible bids from other managers that I'd have to match) for: Stepan Nyquist, Huberdeau, Coyle, Yakupov Smith and Bobrovsky.
