    Default Curtis McKenzie

What's the word on this kid? 6th round draft pick by the Stars in 2009, and now he's scoring a point per game in his rookie AHL season. Is this a case of riding coat-tails, as he's playing along-side Sceviour and Morin?

He wasn't much of a scorer in college, and the report on him says he's tailor made to be a checker, so I'm skeptical. Does anyone have any insight on this guy?

Most likely a checker with good peripherals but he is showing signs of being a guy that just compliments scorers well. His AHL season has been going on long enough that he should at least be on people's radars.

Thanks guys. I'll bump him up a bit on my list. I drafted Palat last year in the middle rounds thanks to some encouraging things I read on the DobberProspects site. Seems to be working out well so far. Hopefully McKenzie gets a similar opportunity.
