    Default Holtby for Pavalec?

Stats and what they're worth in the league:

    Games Started (GS) 1
    Wins (W) 3
    Losses (L) -1
    Goals Against (GA) -1
    Saves (SV) .5
    Shutouts (SHO) 3

I currently have Crawford and Holtby on the team, having dropped Dubnyk last week.

Here's my dilemma, do I stick with this duo or do I replace one or both with sure-fire workhorses like Ondrej Pavalec on WPG who right now has 47.00 Fantasy Points and is #1 rated goalie in my league to Braden Holtby who only has 20 Fantasy points and is #25...

Not sure I would advise dropping Holtby for Pavelec at this early stage. IF you could nab Pavy...I definitely would have as a 3rd tender over DUBY...but Holtby plays for a VERY good team and it's WAY to early to discount his production.

Pavy over Duby for this year I think is a no brainer...maybe even long term. But you could do worse than Crawford and Holtby as your go to pair.

I'm with havana on this. Way too early to get rid of Holtby, especially when his value is at a low.

Agree with both the above posts. I think you should hold on to Holtby. I can see the Jets having a tough go of things this year and seeing your league penalizes losses, he may be a frustrating own

Sorry, I re-read your post and GS would cancel out the loss so not too big a deal. I still stick with Holtby though. Liking the look of WSH and could be a huge point - producer for you

Stick with Holtby. He got off to a bad start last year too. Then domination.

I am actually trying to pick him up at a discount off impatient owners in my leagues. One guy traded him to me for Pavs. Pavs is an average goalie on an average team. A good third option but not someone you want to have to lean on.

Given this incredibly high value for saves you're looking for pure workhorses (70+ starts). As a comparison Holtby could have 10 more wins this year (30 pts) but if Pavelec starts 2 more games with 25 saves in each (average) Pavelec will likely outscore Holtby. Pavelec is money in such a setup as I see him easily getting 70+ whereas Holtby is not as secure in his starter's role and will start a lower number of games. The good news for Holtby is that he was shelled twice and Oates went back to him on Saturday.

I wouldn't swap out Holtby immediately but if he looks like he's on pace for only say 60 starts I wouldn't hesitate to grab him over Pavelec.
