The truth is I think you are the favorite to win. Assuming everyone is healthy. The fact you were able to get Ovechkin and 2 quality goalies plus most of your depth is proven talent where I'm relying more on breakout and comeback years. Plus the fact you still continue to roster Orpik. This will enrage my team causing them to take needless penalties and game misconducts (neither of which help in the non-pim pool). You sir are devious in your planning. I must return the war room and strategize. Also known as watching the Blue Jays destroy Tampa Bay's playoff hopes. MUAHAHAHA!

We're all in first right now lol

Someone's got a huge beef with Orpik as well! What about the others that have derailed Crosby's seasons? Just curious why the bias toward Orpik in particular.

Either way, my defense and multi position based team will crush you all

P.S. Thanks for all the kind words, much appreciated.

    Cheers

C: Elias (LW), Plekanec, Berglund, Zibanejad, Smith
LW: Ladd, Doan (RW), Greening, McGinn
RW: Malkin (C), Backes (C), Ryder, Gionta, Fehr
D: Weber, Edler, Boyle, Dillon, Muzzin, Diaz, Spurgeon
    G: Anderson, Schneider, Vokoun, Harding

I went in trying to focus on two things: multi-cat and dual eligibility.

Rounds 1-5: sitting with the #4 pick, I knew I was going to have a tough time with goaltending. Malkin was a no brainer, but sure enough, 8 goalies drop before I picked again; Luongo is still there, but I go with Anderson -- I just trust him more. After that pick, the next 6 straight are goalies; when Holtby goes, I decide to pass on goalies this round because I don't want to reach, so I select Weber. I start to sweat it, a lot, when 4 of the next 5 picks are goalies, but sure enough, when it's my shot again, Schneider (the guy I was looking at in round 3) is still available. I'm not super stoked to have Anderson/Schneider as my starting duo, but I was expecting something like this given my draft position. My next pick, Backes, is a guy who fulfills my desire for multi-cat and dual eligibility; Brown is the guy I had in mind, but he went in the 4th round.

Rounds 6-10: I decide it's time to get a left winger, and by the time the draft gets back to me, Sharp and Couture are gone, and the best guy I have on my list is Ladd. I return to D again with pick 7, Edler, who I expect to provide good SOG & HIT numbers to complete the points. Pavelski goes quickly after, who I was targeting for the next round, so I come back to D and pick Boyle. At pick 9, I revert to those two informing principles and pick Doan -- I quickly regret that one after Bishop and Emery go, either of whom I was targeting for my next pick. I decide to go for pure points with the next pick, Elias.

Rounds 11-15: Picks 11 & 12 follow the same idea -- more points -- taking Plekanec and Ryder. At pick 13, I think the sleep deprivation begins to kick in, as I take Dillon -- a decent pick, but I come to regret when I see Wiercioch is still on the board. At pick 14, I decide to take a gamble on Vokoun -- no clue how that one unfolds, but I figure he could make a good insurance policy if he comes back early and Brodeur gets more ice time that I'd like. I take Greening with pick 15, expecting something like 35-40 points and SOG and HIT that are both in the 150+ range.

Rounds 16-20: this is where the real yeoman's work of the draft takes place. I focus on filling in my D first, taking Muzzin with pick 16. I find Berglund waiting me for pick 17, a nice surprise. Then I take Zibanejad, hoping for Greening-like numbers or better; Diaz, looking for straight points; and Gionta, who always provides a nice SOG boost.

Rounds 21-25: I've been awake for 21 hours by this point, having worked two jobs that day and consumed most of a bottle of port over the course of the draft. Tally ho! I take out another insurance policy in the form of Harding with pick 21. With my next four picks, I toss some darts: McGinn at 22 (good peripherals), Spurgeon at 23 (a steady 25-30 point guy), Ferh at 24 (total wild card), and (to my shame) Prospal at 25. I realize even before the draft ends that Prospal doesn't have a contract with an NHL team and make plans to replace him with one of Zack Smith, Lewis, or Clifford.

Overall, I kinda like my team. Strong on the wing and on D, with lots of guys who can play more than one position, and even more guys who will contribute to categories like SOG and HIT. My goaltending is my big question mark, obviously: I have a lot of faith in Anderson and expect him to be a top 5 or 7 goalie, to be honest, but I need Schneider to play the 55+ games and keep Brodeur from creating some kind of platoon situation. Whether or not Schneider can do that, and whether or not one of Vokoun or Harding gets an opportunity to lead his team for a long stretch, will be big factors in my team's performance.

He's just the most recent culprit. Plus they play for the same team so the betrayal is even more villianous. The fact Orpik was hiding amongst the penguins prevented Bettman from jumping in front of the shot himself.

Terrible start to the season for team 2toRuutu2toTootooToo. I'm still relatively happy with my draft, but slow starts and low man-games have me firmly in last place. Hard not to get discouraged, but I guess I need to remember that it's a long season. It would be great for my depth guys to help out - Ennis, Boedker, Whitney, that means you. But first, my big players: a combined 0 goals 5 assists out of Benn, Thornton, Stamkos, Simmonds and Goligoski? Come on, time to wake up! Lars Eller is kicking all of your butts by himself!

Says the guy who's winning 5 out of 9 categories

I'll give you Frolik and Anisimov for Varlamov.

I admit though, nice start to the season for you.

I'm startin to fall like a rock here!! One of my spectacular goalies is up for grabs... But you will have to help me in the forward cats as much as losing a top goalie will hurt me in the goalie cats.
