Default Last keeper Roy or Scheifele

Team and cats are in signature below.

I'm struggling between choosing Roy and Scheifele for my last keeper spot.

I know short term Scheifele is the 'risker' pick, but he has far more upside, is a golden boy, and only has to contend with the underrated Little for the top C spot as Jokenin is slowing down.

(fyi, I won, and was runner-up for the last two years in my league and thus I am expecting to contend again)

Personally, I would go with Scheifele. He seems to be pretty close to making an impact at the NHL level. Roy to me will be a complementary piece to the STL game board. Not to mention, he's just not been the same player he once was. I wonder if he will continue to fade.

Choosing Scheifele may impact your ability to contend for the championship this season...but it will likely be a minimal impact.

Scheifele for me. If they aren't even this year, they will be next year. And Scheifele will be the pick there after.

Exactly - Roy has been on the decline for a few years and is now with St. L. Scheifele is you pick here.

Schiefele will stick this year, he looks great in camp. Evander is set for another step forward too, this will help schiefeles numbers for this year. Kids going to be great.

Roy is the safer option in terms of a veteran to help you win now....but in this instance Scheifele is too good and Roy is too many injury prone and inconsistent. Also to me Roy landed in one of the worst places he could have fantasy-wise...Blues forwards aren't much more valuable than Nashville Predator forwards.

I would take the risk and keep Scheifele...the negative effect of losing Roy will be minimal due to the aforementioned reasons. Also, crazier things have happened than if Scheifele was just as valuable or more so than Roy this season.

    Hope this helps.

I don't know how much I agree with this. Schef matching Roy this year? Maybe if he's on the top pp and first 2 lines.

Going for the win I'd go Roy here. He will have a chance to centre the first line with backes on the wing. It's not out of line to project a 50-60 pt season for Roy. I just can't see scheif doing more this year.

Don't get me wrong, keeper league would have me looking at the young stud but this year I like Roy.
