Default Top available forwards: Stepan & Wheeler

    For the league in sig.

    Keepers not named yet.
But, looking at each roster, I can say that these 10 guys won't be keepers.
I rank them in this order:
    Stepan
    Wheeler
    Parenteau
    Ribiero
    Eriksson
    Lupul
    Koivu
    Krejci
    Hossa
    Kadri

I'm planning to drop Parenteau, Eriksson and Koivu to keep Huberdeau and EKane.
Of the 7 remaining forwards, I see Stepan and Wheeler ahaed of the rest.

    SITUATION:
The same gm will drop both Stepan and Wheeler. I can surely get both for next to nothing.
    QUESTION:
Would it be a good move to grab them and and then drop Huberdeau and EKane?

I know that Stepan's and Wheeler's value and potential are way under Huberdeau's and EKane's, but is there a significant points improvement in a move like that?

    Thanks
    REP to you.

Huberdeau and EKane are both way better than both Stepan and Wheeler IMO. No way I'd ever keep either one over either of your guys.

On a strictly one year window if say that Huberdeau is the lowest scoring player of the lot. I wouldn't trade him for either Wheeler or Stepan as long term he is better than them and has more trade value than that even today.

Yup. Stepan may have just played his career season and Wheeler is likely nearing his top end as well. Kane should be right there with those two this year and Huberdeau should surpass them in the next two seasons, he'll be more than serviceable until then too.

I'd stand pat and take what I could come draft time.

Agree with the concensus here. If you were hell-bent on winning it all this year and not worrying about your future then you could make an argument to make this move.
However I suggest sticking with Hubs and Kane all the way

In a points-only league, I would keep Eriksson over any of the players mentioned (save perhaps for Huberdeau).

He is a proven and consistent 70-point player.

    Yes I can.
I would have to trade to get Stepan (really cheap) and then drop Kane.

    Ha!
    Lots of options, I know.
    Add Yandle to the mix!
After 2 polls and dozens on replies, the concensus (if we can have one) is that Huberdeau and Kane were the best #5 and #6 keepers...

    I'm still not convinced.
