    Default "tandem" dilemna

In a limited keeper H2H, start 2 goalies daily league (with W, GAA, SV%, SHO), I've got Rinne locked up as my first goalie keeper.
I want to keep one more goalie.
On my roster of possibilities: Reimer, Bernier, Hiller.
Whichever of the 3 I keep, it's my desire to draft his tandem partner (ie. keep Reimer, draft Bernier ... or keep Hiller, draft Fasth), and I'm confident I can make that happen.
So essentially the question becomes: which goaltending duo would you prefer ... the Leafs or Ducks?

Without going on gut instinct, some stats to ponder:

    Hiller went 15-6-4, 2.36, .913 last season
Since coach Boudreau took over, Hiller's gone 35-20-10, 2.13, .913 (since January 2012)
Career, Hiller is 2.51 and .917.

Reimer went 19-8-5, 2.46, .924 last season, and has looked pretty good under coach Carlyle ... good enough to make the Leaf's acquisition of Bernier a questionable one for a lot of people.
Career, Reimer is 2.71 and .915.

Both Bernier and Fasth have put up really good numbers, albeit with such a small sample size of GP. Either could just as easily fizzle under the stress of being counted on full time as a starter, although Bernier's got the pedigree of being a highly drafted prospect.

I still believe Hiller's got the inside edge to remain the #1 ... he certainly did well last season when healthy, and played all playoff games for the Ducks. The Leafs situation is a little more up in the air as to who may emerge as the #1. Hiller's contract has led some to believe he may get traded this season ... but that shouldn't be a major focus in this decision right now.

    So waddya think?
    Leafs? or Ducks?
    Thanks guys!

Tough call because I think it's pretty close either way. Personally I would keep Bernier as I think he has the most talent of the 4 although I am sure many will argue against that. Age favors the Leafs tandem as well.

Another reason to keep Bernier is that he might have the highest perceived value of the group. Then, it could be easier for you to re-draft Reimer as other managers may consider Hiller a safer bet for #1, thus increasing the likelihood of Reimer falling down the board a bit.

I think personally, you keep Hiller, and not worry at all about the Toronto crap shoot. I also see Fastk, being the easiest of the 3 to get at the draft.
I really think Hiller retains #1 status.

this would also be my strategy. Hiller should get snatched up at draft time, unless you plan on drafting him back early (say rnd 3 at the earliest)

Hiller for me, and draft Fasth as a back-up in the re-draft.

In daily H2H, I really like trying to get three teams of goalies for 2G slots.
Anaheim is a great team to own with their off-night schedule.

Toronto is my least favourite team to own in H2H.
They almost NEVER play on the last day of a H2H week (Sunday) and they play on all the typical NHL nights (Tues/Thurs/Sat mostly).

I will be looking to snag the ANA duo in most of my daily-start leagues this year.

As overall GAA/SV% go... I do prefer Bernier & the Toronto goalies.
However, that's only a portion of fantasy hockey strategy.

The off-night scheduling tips my preference back over to the ANA duo.

Hiller Fasth is the option i would go with. Hiller has the most proven record of all the netminders and if he falters then fasth is a solid backup. Reimer's numbers fluctuate quite a bit and is a risky pick in my book. I understand the upside Bernier and he could be the best Overall netminder when it's all said and done, but for me I'll go with the known quantity over the potential on this one.

    Welcome aboard Irish!

I think its Hiller and Fasth. Looking at the numbers, an argument could be made for either. I think Hiller is an extremely talented netminder, who could be an elite player. For this reason, I take him and his backup given the choice.
