Yeah, Barber is looking really good. He'll have a more dominant role in the WJC this Christmas too. I don't think we'll see him in the NHL until the college season ends.....next year, in 2015.
Berra and Barber for Paajarvi? Not bad! Risky of course, but I love the odd gamble. Adds to the fun.

Right now it's Morgan Rielly, Last year it was Hamilton, 2 years ago it was Gallagher, and 3 years ago it was MaxPac. (see sig)

For me it's Jonas Brodin. I picked him up as a late pick on a hunch, and now it would absolutely kill me to trade him away. I've fallen hard for his game, and I'm clinging frantically to the hope that his offense catches up with the rest that package and he develops into a top-5 all around defenceman. Part of it is subconsciously showing off that I'm smarter than everyone else for drafting him, I'm sure, but I've hitched my wagon to the Brodin train, for better or worse.

For me it's Sean Monahan. His skill set and opportunity in Calgary really intrigues me. The last time i was THIS giddy over a prospect was Jonathan Toews and he's been my favorite player ever since ( partly cause he's a Blackhawk) but still, I was mega-high on Toews and I am just as high on Monahan. I'm not comparing them together, I am just comparing my excitement of Monahan to how I felt about Toews back then.

I'll never trade Toews and I feel like I have Monahan already in that category of not trading him.

Bring very high on Monahan (or any first round pick) isn't irrational though.

Your right, but not being willing to trade him ( for some of the offers I've received) is a bit irrational lol

I'm really into guys like Kirill Kabanov (training with Gary Roberts) right now. Once heralded, yet seems to have slipped from most people's consciousness. Another example would be a guy like Stanislav Galiev, great potential wingers who could get spots with very talented playmakers in a couple years.

Another guy, who I am kinda surprised I haven't heard more about around these parts, is Kyle Rau. He's an undersized college player, but he has elite offensive skills and we all know Dobber loves to tout the small guys. He could get a winger spot with the Panthers as soon as the end of this college season, but more likely 2014-15 and with all the talented Centermen in FLA could be putting up points sooner than we might think.

A guy I have been really high on for a year and a half or so is Alex Guptill. Of all Dallas Stars prospects he's the one with the most intriguing potential to me...and even more so then Reilly Smith and Matt Fraser before they became Bruins. Not to say he'll be a star but...I think there's a good chance he could be one of those unheralded players that make some noise when he turns pro. I would expect him to turn pro after the NCAA season concludes.

JT Compher. I have picked him up in 3 out of 4 drafts so far, and would have had him in the 4th one if someone else hadn't grabbed him first.

In October, you can add MacKinnon (1st), Barkov (3rd) and Jones (4th) to that list. The league I joined really gave me no option other than building via prospects and waiting. The only original player I have left from my expansion draft last year is Markstrom!

    Jonas Junland and Kirill Petrov
Consider Sim Hockey because guys who play shutdown minutes, deflect shots and clear creases build championships. Yet in fantasy they litter the unwanted UFA lists.
