Drouin. Based on a gut feeling but both players should be great. MacKinnon is the safer choice based on his elite skating, tireless work ethic and sturdier frame. The difference in upside between them isn't too big

2)Who would you want for a points only keeper league after N.Mac and Drouin are off the board, forwards only??

    See above. Barkov.

    Thanks Dean!!

    Bolded my answers above. Enjoy

Ummmm...this is a pretty extensive question. I recommend you purchase the 2013 Dobber Fantasy Prospects Guide. Each of those lists are covered in the guide.

    Sean Monahan
    Valeri Nichushkin

    Thanks Deaner!
Because it's weighted for goal scorers...

    1. Nichushkin (assuming he follows through with his intentions to come to NA)
    2. Hunter Shinkaruk
    3. Domi
    4. Barkov
    5. Monahan
    6. Lindholm

Sorry if I'm a little late with my question, but here goes :

I have two late 3rd round picks in our upcoming draft. This is a sim league so usually the higher the NHL value, the higher the value in our league as well (defensive awareness counts for forwards for example).

Who could I target with my picks? Are there any players that could fall to the end of the 3rd round and that I should keep an eye out for?

    Thanks in advance!

on who i should target with the other 2 picks. Can you give me some names that i should be considering? Any sleepers available with those picks?

    thx for doing this

See my response to a previous member on mid round sleepers/targets. Those are players I would consider in that range.

Extremely tough question to answer as I feel the O'Reilly situation was very unique to Colorado drafting him. I guess Saad is another example as well when a prospect forces his way into the lineup.

Some players I would look at metaldude26 are:

William Carrier - He has the size and he has already played 3 seasons in the Q

Frederik Gauthier - responsible player that could find his way into an NHL lineup soon if drafted by the right team.

    Bo Horvat - see Gauthier

Curtis Lazar - same situation as Gauthier and Horvat

This draft class is a bit unique since there is a cluster of similarily ranked players from 15-50. Draft slots aren't as distinguished as clear as some previous draft classes but those are four players that slot in that range who WILL be drafted inside the top 45 and could step right into the NHL and make an impact.

    Nichushkin over Brunner

I would take Monahan and Lindholm too over Brunner (if you can afford to wait) but the difference isn't as significant.

Domi, Shinkaruk and Wennberg all have upsides I like slightly better than Brunner's but those are riskier chances to take.

Ryan Pulock definitely. Huge upside in every category.

Darnell Nurse has all the tools to become a multi-cat stud as well. He could end up being one of the best dmen from this class.

Some prospects I like who look to be 3rd round picks include:

    Eric Locke
    Hudson Fasching
    John Hayden
Zach Nastasiuk (I like him as a high 2nd but he could slide)
    Emile Poirier
    Lucas Wallmark
    Ryan Kujawinski

    Some defensemen:
    Willl Butcher
    Michael Downing
    Linus Arnesson
    Brett Pesce

Those are some of my favourite prospects too....

Sorry for the delay (I may be too late) but...

    Bjorkstrand
    Poirier
    Wallmark
    Baptiste (lots of upside though)

Thanks for posting all of your questions folks and more importantly, thanks for being patient with my responses.

Please feel free to continue posting here until the draft as I will be checking back more often.

I noticed your input on the Rattie vs Nushuskin thread and was wondering where you would rank Ty Rattie amongst

    Drouin
    Mackinnon
    Barkov
    Nushuskin
    Lindholm
    Monahan
    Shinkaruk
    Domi
    Horvat
