    Default datsyuk/ h sedin for marleau/elias

standard scorin 12 team yahoo h2h dynasty league-

i think on the surface it seems like a no brainer, however... my real motovation for the trade really stems from a desire to move sedin but the rumors swirlin around marleau (im not entirely convinced that he is the kind of player that would automatically have the same success wherever he might end up- i mean has he just matured into the player everyone thought he would be or is it that joe garners most of teh attention on the ice?) and also gomezs defection make me uneasy bout both of them - i also like the fact that datsyuk is locked up in detriot for 7 years and despite my desire to trade henrik he has steadly improved each season as well- my team, i think is very solid and dont necessarily have to make this move...again the trade is mostly fueled by my desire to move sedin- opinions would be appreciated

    if it helps- my team...

i think you should stick with what you have.

datsyuk- #1 line playing with zetterberg, nice
sedin- #1 line, has improved every year, with another solid winger prolly another boost in points.

marleau- 2nd liner, if he is traded can he put up big points without mighty joe taking the heat?
elias- no proven #1 centre. team is designed around defense first, not good for big points.

it\'s hard when you don\'t like the guy on your team. i made this mistake last year with T.Kaberle. didn\'t like him, then he started slow out of the gate so i moved him, regretted it ever since.

At this point I would keep Datsyuk/Sedin without question...
You know what you are going to get out of them...Marleau/Elias..mostly Elias right now are pretty iffy as far as 80+point production goes...if you don\'t like Sedin, see if you can throw in a late pick with Sedin for Marleau, cause he probably wouldn\'t go straight up for him..

Hello myothersock: Excuse my ignorance. When you say Yahoo standard scoring, what does that mean? If you are saying that there is no point differential for goals/assists then I am going to go with Sedin/Datsyuk. If there is point differential for goals/assists then I go with Elias/Marleau.

    Elias: 31 yrs, 69/75, 21g/48a
    Marleau: 27 yrs, 78/77, 32g/46a
    Sedin: 26 yrs, 81/82, 10g/71a
    Datsyuk: 28yrs, 87/79, 27g/60a

    Elias/Marleau: 53g/94a
    Sedin/Datsyuk: 37g/131a

Elias has lost Gomez. Marleau may or may not be traded.
Rumor: Elias to Vancouver, to play with Sedin. What do you think now?

    Sedin/Datsyuk probably have more stability.

I think it really comes down to your scoring. Sorry for being so long winded. If I knew the Yahoo scoring I could have saved you all this banter.

thanks for the opinions guys- sometimes the best trades r the ones u dont make- as for henrik, i was pleasantly surprised w/ him last year...but i think it was his playoffs that turned me off- u know sometimes i get this idea in my head that i have to trade someone...which at times might be irrational- anyway, thanks for the input

someone asked bout yahoo standard scorin...

there is no differential b/w goals and assits- the scorin categories r--- goals/assits/+/-/ppp/pims/gwgs and for goalies w/gaa/sv%/sho

    keep Datsyuk and Sedin.

Sedin had some rotten puck luck last year (only potting 10 goals) but was his usual assist machine self. He should be good for 85-90 with a few peak years. Datsyuk has more offensive potential, maybe 90-100.

Marleau has never been a big time scorer and if he does leave SJ he doesn\'t get to play with/behind Jumbo J anymore.

I\'m not an Elias fan - especially on NJ.
NJ plays it tight, Elias has been oft injured, and I do not see any scoring talent going back to NJ to compensate for the loss of Gomez (I do not belive Zubrus is an adequate replacement).
There is even rumors of NJ trading Gionta now (although I think it unlikely).
I think that tips the scale to Datsyuk/Sedin.
