Did it live up to the huge hype?

I've just started watching Lost after having juste finished the 3rd season of Shameless.

But I have to agree with a lot of people on here, Dexter's great!

I'm waiting for season 5 to be finished before starting it. Good show, especially the 4th season.

It was pretty solid to be honest. I also was skeptical about the hype when I started it but I didn't feel let down at all really haha.

Sherlock is one of the best shows I've seen in a long time. Right now there are two season, 3 episodes each, each are an hour and a half. I completely fell in love with the show. Outstanding. Moriarty is just fantastic in the show, one of the best villians I have ever seen.

The Killing is a great show, seasons 1 and 2 were really good. I am excited about season 3!
Can't agree with you more! Thank you for the suggestion, I cruised through both seasons.. Sherlock is an amazing show!

Just finished the first season of Homeland - pretty good, I figured it would be shameless propaganda and fear mongering, which it is, but the acting is great and the psychological stuff with Danes' character is an interesting twist.

Just watched the first episode of House Of Cards - Spacey alone is enough to keep me watching, what an actor!

Also watched season 1 of Vikings - its pretty good - a lot better than Spartacus, some pretty interesting characters, although they seem to jump ahead a lot, and sometimes raises the eyebrow with the plotline. The theme song by Fever Ray is a treat every time I hear it

Orange is the New Black Netflix's latest show is pretty freaking awesome. From the creator of Weeds.

Wife & I are through first eight episodes.
Not bad. I like, don't love it. 3.5/5 stars.

I enjoy the backgrounds they do on other inmates.
Makes for a nice side-story to each episode.

Yeah I liked that at first but my wife insisted on burning thru it in 2 days and I got totally overdosed on it. -lol The big problem I feel the show has already developed by the end of Season 1 is the same problem that plagued Weeds. He basically writes himself into a corner with it such that the only way to keep the plot going is progressively more ridiculous scenarios. It's a shame too because it's otherwise a cool concept and a good mix of drama and humor

    LOL.
    Two notes.

    1) Yup, my wife is hooked. We watch it for her. I grew tired of it after about 3-4 shows. Plot is actually not that good. Characters and character back-story is the best part. Oh... and PORNSTACHE MENDEZ!!! He's great.

    2) Jenji Kohan is a chick. I know... I thought it was a guy too.

Thanks to this thread I am officially committing to watching The Wire. Always wanted to but never had HBO, now I do.

warning, the first 2 seasons are super addictive and well put together...it begins to fall apart a bit in season 3 and season 4 becomes ****ing unwatachable. It's such a sad state of affairs these days how anything on network TV eventually goes to complete shit...Lost, The Walking Dead, Battlestar Gallactica, these are all fantastic series that just fall apart

Edit: never mind I think I misunderstood your comment. Thought you were referring to the Wire.

Huh, Couldn't disagree more. 3 and 4 (especially 4) are my favourites by far. Love the angles in both.

But, yeah, generally speaking you often have shows that go on well after they've run out of things to say. Weeds and Lost are perfect examples.
