Actually a buddy of mine just bought a Google Chromecast and he says they work pretty well. It's an option as well.

Cool, never heard of this device but it's pretty interesting from a technological standpoint.

Having said that it's too complex for a simplistic guy like me, and I think it's missing the most important feature I need - the ability to stream any media files locally from my hard drive to my TV.

I basically use torrents to download all my movies/shows into a well organized media folder on my computer, and then I just turn on the WDTV, and access all my locally stored media files straight off my TV. It works brilliantly, and it's easy and straightforward to use.

Broadchurch is BBC's True Detective. First rate everything.

I am about halfway through and this show is very strong. Definitely worth watching.

A really cool and unique new show I've been watching is called Penny Dreadful. It can turn people off as it's about vampires, but it's so far from a typical tale. The cast is really good and it's a dark and gritty drama, which I love. It's shot really well and it takes on a twist with well known characters such as Dr Frankenstein and Dorian Gray. Really cool show. I recommend giving it a two episode trial as there was a scene in the second episode that sold me on the show.

I've been suffering from Broadchurch withdrawal syndrome since watching the last episode over the Holiday break.

I've tried a couple of things on Netflix Canada but nothing really stuck.

I've finally landed on "The Bridge", a Sweden-Denmark coproduction. Not quite as good as Broadchurch but compelling in its own way.

The show starts off with the body of a woman being found on a bridge that crosses from Malmo (Sweden) to Copenhagen (Denmark). As half the body is in Sweden and the other half in Denmark, detectives from each jurisdiction must work together to solve the crime.

It's a pretty neat story and always interesting to see a story take place in a location/culture you're not as familiar with.

I'm up to episode 5 of season 3 of The Wire, and I enjoy it, but I'm still not seeing how it's among the greatest shows out there. For me so far, it's good-very good, but nowhere near something like Breaking Bad, which was pretty spectacular from start to finish (save for a brief lull in the middle, perhaps). I'm sure The Wire continues to get better, and again, I am enjoying it, but I'm a little bit disappointed so far.

It doesn't seem to be a very popular show... couldn't even find decent quality torrents for it.
