Ozark's season 4 trailer is out.
Wife and I are watching "Midnight Mass" on Netflix. Currently holding a 74 on Metacritic - which makes the "watchable" cut for us.
Pretty enjoyable thru 5 episodes if you like fantastical stuff mixed in with isolation on an island.
(Old FNL QB Matt Saracen is one of the lead characters and does a pretty good job. And many actors/actresses from Haunting of Hill House and Bly House whatever... it works)
[What was kind of interesting is that by the end of Episode 3 you're like "Oooooooh... apparently I'm watching a show about _______ and even they don't know it!"
I'll have to push my wife to finish 9 Perfect Strangers.
She and I watched it... but we found it TOO theatrical. (Only a 53 on Metacritic)
Like the characters seemed like actors acting, rather than people. I can't recommend it though.
Good to know the ending is solid - we might finish it up.
I think we were about halfway thru.

Squid Game is taking over my mind. I can't stop thinking about it. GREAT recommendation.

I usually try to do subtitles if I can give a show or movie my full attention but the dubbing for the first episode was quite well done.
Finished Squid Game last night (at 3am!). For anybody that like the Hunger Games movies... you'll certainly like this too. Very good. My 12-year old (who loves blood/gore/brutal-contests) loved it.
Wife and I also finished that Midnight Mass show. We liked that a lot (not "loved", but "liked a lot" - yes). It was super interesting that if you were to mention what this show was about in one-word... its a word that they don't say throughout the entire show. It's a really interesting way of taking a concept that's been done a lot... and switching it to something where the characters are believing in something else (because they don't know??? IDK). I recommend this show based on what's out there... it's very good.
Currently we are watching Clickbait.
Awful show. Awful acting... but... we're gonna watch it though. Just because it's a whodunit/whydunit thing... and we like to try to guess/solve those.
But the actors and writing are both awful. And sometimes they create side-character storylines/backgrounds that just don't have any impact on the story.
Do not recommend unless you have absolutely nothing better and you want to do things on your phone with a show in the background.
I'm really enjoying Squid Game. I only ever what non-English shows/movies with subtitles. Can't stand dubbing.
I'm three episodes in and I'm hooked. It isn't for everyone, even if you can handle subtitles, but it is exactly the kind of show I enjoy. Quirky, dark, unique...reminds me of the movie Parasite (obviously). Not only because it is also Korean, but it tackles many similar themes, including class structure, money, family, etc. in that same sometimes (dark) comedic and sometimes somber way.

For those that liked Squid Game (which, for North Americans will be reminiscent of Hunger Games) - the first of this genre I remember seeing was a movie that translates to "Battle Royale", from 2000.
I might watch that with my oldest daughter tonight.

Another I've been enjoying, brings back some beats from my teenage years is Wu Tang: An American Saga. Awesome series chronicling how one of the greatest got to be just that.
Call me old one more time.

I jumped on the Squid Game bandwagon on Wednesday. I left work not feeling well and had to get a covid test and isolate. Ended up binging 5 episodes (which is something I never do). Watched episode 6 last night. Super fun, dark and twisted and it managed to draw a significant amount of emotional investment in its characters from me. Which is surprising given the dubbing. There’s a reason this is such a popular show.
Recently finished season 3 of Manifest as well. I will agree with Pengwin that the acting leaves a bit to be desired at times. But overall the story was enough to keep me invested and looking forward to seeing how they wrap things up when Netflix brings it back for season 4
