I need a new show...

There was a scene in Bosch’s last season where J Edgar is talking with another character about HBO’s The Wire. “She is like a female version of Stringer Bell. What, you never see The Wire?”. Of course, J Edgar is played by Jamie Hector, who played Marlo in The Wire. I got a kick out of that.

I got a chuckle out of that as well. If anyone read my post from a while back DO NOT read anything about the Bosch spinoff that will be produced soon. Completely spoils where a few characters will be when the series ends and seriously undercuts the tension when a character's life is being threatened but they've already announced that character as a lead in the follow-up show.

Also, the spinoff is supposed to be an IMDBTV show. Anyone know what that means? Amazon already owns IMDB.

Can’t wait, Gandolfini’s real son playing him as young Tony. Must have been real tough to play your dad’s infamous role. Funny thing is he said he never watched the show but had to for this one to get his dad’s mannerisms right.

Wow I did not know that! I just thought they had perfect casting for Tony.

I'll admit I wasn't thrilled when this was announced but the trailer looked fantastic.

8. The Sinner (didn't like Season 3 though, made me too squeamish, did not enjoy as much)

I would say all were very good, with the Top 4 there being "great"

If I go back two years, then add in Bosch and Jack Ryan

Will have to check out, Halt & Catch Fire, You, Ted Lasso.

If Mr. Mercedes is anything like the books then it’s going to be awesome.

I loved Lost when it was on. Would love to rewatch with my wife but I doubt that will happen. Partially because when she asks how long the season is and I start to answer with "twenty-"....she'll leave the room haha.

I'm constantly reminding my gf to put the phone down to pay attention lol. Took 5-6 episodes before she's asking to put it on instead of me doing it.

I should go back and keep watching this. That scene in one of the first episodes in which Lee Pace gets the investor to fund the project at the dinner party was so awesome.

re: Yellowstone, I've heard that it has gained strength with seasons... and I saw several NHL players list it in their "what were you watching during COVID" segment. Articles on internet suggest it got lost by viewers after a sort of low-rank of the opening season. But I love to hear these reviews. And I'm a huge Costner fan. He fits certain roles SO well.

re: Halt & Catch Fire. I admit, I didn't give this show a chance because there was a few start-up/internet/tech shows around 2014 and I chose to jump on Silicon Valley and something else.
Unfortunately, I snob my nose up at any shows south of 70... so I think I missed giving this show and Yellowstone (s1: 54) a chance when they came out.
But this show has Metacritic rankings of 69, 73, 83, 92 from s1 to s4... so that show amazing incline!

Wife and I just finished a Swedish show called "The Drowning" - had to sign up for some streaming service. It was OK... 3.5/5 stars. You have to watch subtitles.

I've watched Bo Burnham's "Inside" three times now! Oh man, I love this guy. The little inclusions of his real world in between takes... it really gets you. It makes the rest more real. Sort of the whole "what was left on the cutting room floor". Probably my favourite thing I've watched in the past year or two. In between watchings, I went back and watched his Netflix special from 2015/2016 ish. Younger Bo Burnham, good stuff. Same room/door in end take, I believe.

My 11 year old kid has been into zombies... so I'm rewatching Walking Dead with her late at night. Good father/daughter bonding... and nice to be able to say "You're going to want to catch this next part!".

Looking forward to the new Ted Lasso, s2. Nice easy watch - will lace in well with Summer Olympics in the next few weeks.
