I hear where you're coming from but I adjusted my expectations after last season. Comparing it to season one is an awful idea because that was one of my favorite seasons/experiences ever.

Ya I totally agree. I think this goes to show how much better a show can be when the entire story is written, no matter how many seasons it takes. Rather than just continuing to pump our seasons because it was popular.

There's a Drew Barrymore show on Netflix and it's apparently really good. Santa Clarita Diet I think it's called.

I really enjoyed this show and I've been rewatching the end of the second season because the 3rd starts next week. It took a few episodes to grow on me, and I'm not sure why, the creator's other shows (Andy Richter Controls the Universe and Better Off Ted) were right up my alley and a show by him with horror elements and the same ludicrous yet subtle humour is something I should be all over.

Anyway, to sum it up, the show has Drew Barrymore play a suburban mom who becomes an undead cannibal and Timothy Olyphant plays her perpetually stoned and nonplussed husband. And Nathan Fillion plays an undead severed head!

We gotta look at these True Detective seasons as standalone shows IMO

I watched the first season of Bodyguard with Richard Madden (Robb Stark of Game of Thrones). Madden plays a war veteran who is now working as a specialist protecting a member of British Parliament. It is super tense and well written. The first season is only 6 episodes long. Give it a watch on Netflix if you are into that kind of thing.

A better idea is to compare Season 3 with Season 2, then you can't help but look as Mahershala Ali's portrayal of an aging, slowly going senile detective as brilliant. (Which it is whether or not you do a comparison). I liked Season 3, but try to stay away from any comparisons to either of its predecessors.

Couldn't figure out if I did or not. I love Jack Ryan stuff. Hunt for Red October is an all-time favourite movie for me. I think this underwhelmed but I made it to the end, so how bad could it have been.
