^Yup. And HBO won't drag out a series if it shows signs of decline.
AMC (Walking Dead) had a hit... and even with declining ratings it was still one of their most-watched shows... so they held it.
Last of Us (Metacritic Score= 84) has been absolutely great through 3 episodes. I'm curious how many they gave to critics for ratings - because sometimes those reviews ARE only based on some set-amount (and not the whole series).
I still have big faith in this show.


I just/finally finished Andor the other night. Awesome show - especially going into it without big expectations or hype.

Funny you say that....IGN's review was of the entire season of the show! Which you're right, is very rare. So maybe they did release the whole thing to certain places?

As for Andor, absolutely loved it. Even though the only reason I watched it was because of the hype, it lived up to it. Struggling through Obi Wan now and I can't say the same for that....

sounds like Last of Us is worth a whirl . I'm probably not renewing Crave t.v (where HBO is available in canada) after buying the app for a year this summer so I could watch the GOT's new series so I better get busy

Omg Last of Us Ep3...that was legit a candidate for best episode of any show of 2023. I can't think of many shows that could hit emotionally like that ep did.

As a major devotee to the game, it's the massive deviation from the story that bothers me. Luckily that chapter does not have any effect on the rest of the story (in the game) so fingers crossed they stick to it as closely as they can in the remaining 6, as with the first two (which were great). I just replayed it for the first time in many years - still hold up as one of the best games ever!

I really like Pascal as Joel (and an actor), Lady Mormont doesn't quite capture it (yet) but she's growing on me. Tess's character was not quite as bold as the game, but she was great (Anna Torv, was in a great little show called "Fringe"maybe 15+ years ago). Slight change on her demise but it was inconsequential.

Bills character was great, and his initial demeanor was a tamed down version of Bill in the game - the actor was phenomenal. Frank was dead (suicide) in the game (you find his very old skeleton) and Bill helps you find a battery for the car in his garage (not the easy fix), which you then have to roll-start to pop the clutch while fighting off infected.

The rest of the original story is very, very dark, but good.

Treason on Netflix was worth the watch. It's a quick 5 episode British spy thriller in the style of a lot of stuff you might get from the BBC. It's not BBC production so it doesn't quite meet their bar. It's to the level of another British Netflix thriller Bodyguard, if you recall that one from a few years back. If not, well then maybe you've got two shows worth checking out.

Ep 4 of TLOU was good, but I wouldn't judge the series on that episode. It was definitely a middle season ep.

Just watched this episode last night. Phenomenal.

It's amazing how the writers and directors can tell such a beautiful love story that could be it's own movie and then suddenly flip the switch back to Zombie mode
