The more I watch this show, the more I hate it. So much testosterone and one-liners. So cliche. So predictable. So unbelievable. It's a poor man's Mission Impossible blended with the Fast and the Furious. It's like they took a couple 25-year old brahs and said write and develop this show. And you know they are so proud of their results! I'm 4 episodes in and will probably keep watching it to see if it improves but it's a train wreck.

I totally agree with your review. The trailer had me hooked. I expected much better. However it’s been such a train wreck I’m unable to look away. I have no interest to see how it turns out. I’m thankful the complete season hadn’t been released when I started watching.

I can only picture the remainder of Season 1 where Mason Kane saves world and family. Regains his memory. In season 2 he tries to juggle a relationship with Nadia and Abby while Bernard Orlick makes an amazing recovery.

lol- that sounds about right. Oh yeah- the show didn't get any better. I just had to watch the rest of it.

The 8-part miniseries on the 2022 Tour de France on Netflix is excellent. Loved the format and the behind-the-scenes coverage. Since there was no sports I wanted to watch this weekend, I binged it in 2 days. Highly recommended.

Chimp Empire - 4 part docuseries on Netflix. It's AMAZING. The access they get is unreal. The scientists have been embedded with this troop of chimps for the last 30 years studying them to the point that the chimps just go about their business around them, including warring with other troops. It's jarring but it's real and the quality is top notch. Chimps are our closest relatives. If you aren't introspecting about human nature while watching this, I don't know what to say. Cannot recommend this enough.

I watched the Arnold 3 part doc on Netflix yesterday afternoon. Interesting. Who knew he had brains to go with the brawn earlier in his career. Too bad he didnt use those when he messed around the the "help" later in life, but it was still an interesting doc.

Black Mirror s6. 2 Episodes are really good, 1 is dumb as hell, the other 3 are alright.

The dumb as hell one is so dumb I feel like they fed an AI a ton of teenager novels are had it spit out the script.

That mix sounds about right based on prior seasons.

The worst part of the bad episode was it didn't even feel like a Black Mirror episode. It was odd.

The whole season not having the previous seasons technology at it's focal point is weird for me too.

I'm excited to hear a review on Black Mirror.
I watched the (Brit ones) with my wife back when they came out.
Those were VERY hit & miss as well... but the ones that hit... really, really hit.
So I'll stomach the duds if there's some good ones.

I'm excited for final season of Barry - though I have to watch that on my own time. Wife doesn't like "gun shows"... even though Bill Hader rocks in any deadpan role.

We're watching a few shows right now.
Succession - we are mid-way through S3. I'm glad I stuck with it. The characters are good - very true to who they are supposed to be. Bunch of a-holes... but all seriously worried about their future with their company & their wealth. 'Cause they're all screwed if the company goes down. In that light... it's a very solid plot. Season 3 is better than 1 & 2.

Silo (AppleTV) - the wife & I both read these books - the first one is called "Wool". Great first episode with Rashida Jones. The TV show actually gives more backstory/intel about the "world" than the book - which was a slow grind to collect information. The male characters feel a little weak to this point... but the female characters are really excellent. It's got potential.

Shrinking (AppleTV) - We like this one. The characters are great - and they all interact with each other in some form. Every character has a flaw - but, in some sense, they could all be real people... people you might now - at various points of their lives. The first episode is about a shrink who is so effin tired with a bunch of featherweights complaining about their unhappiness in his therapy room. (ps. I'm not making fun/light of that... but the show does dress up the vibes of several of those characters as some unimportant complaints.) Anyways - probably one of those shows that one would know after an episode or two whether they'd like it.

Just as an update I did finish Succession (a month ago). It was quite enjoyable. I felt the show got better with each season (which is incredibly rare - almost always goes the other way).

They ended at the perfect time - 4 seasons worth of content. This was def one of those shows with a finite shelf life, and I'm thankful the producers exited at the top instead of milking it for another 2-3 years and ending up like Walking Dead.

lol, i watched this. it was a "Saturday Morning Coffee" type show for us. the premise is good, but it wasn't a great show by any means. there's points where you'd swear it was scripted for EVERYONE, but its still pretty good how the actors can ad-lib like that...
