    Default Studs & Duds - Sunday 4/21

    Studs

Rask and you shall receive – After a crazy week in Boston all Tuukka Rask wanted was to relax and play a quiet game of hockey and that’s just what he got. Rask made 28 saves in the 3-0 win over the toothless Florida Panthers for his 4th shutout of the season and the 15th of his career. Sunday night’s win broke a personal season long 3 game losing streak.

Just throw him in and see if he swims – That is exactly what the Calgary Flames did with Rookie defenseman Mark Cundari. Cundari playing in his first ever NHL game was second on the team in ice time playing an amazing 24:54. Cundari responded to the playing time by scoring his first NHL goal and having a monster fantasy night as he finished the night with 1G-1A-2Pts, 2 Shots, 2 Hits and 3 blocks. I could not find where another NHL defenseman had more ice time the Cundari did in their first NHL game.

All the Kings men – All the Kings big guns were on fire yesterday as the LA King’s exploded offensively in the 5-4 OT win over the Dallas Stars. The Kings who are getting ready to defend their Stanley Cup Crown and become back to back Staley cup Champions were led by Captain Dustin Brown and his fellow subjects.
    Dustin Brown – 2 goals, 2 shots, 7 hits, 2 PIM
Jeff Carter – 1 goal, 2 assists, 4 shots, OT GWG – (CY young number 25-7)
    Mike Richards – 1 goal, 1 assist, 2 shots, 3 hits, 2 PIM
    Anze Kopitar – 2 assists, 2 shots, 3 hits

    Duds

Singing the Blues – St. Louis goaltender Brian Elliot was singing off key Sunday night in the 5-3 loss to the Colorado Avalanche. Elliott who had lost only once in the previously 9 games going in to last night’s game was torched for 4 goals on just 19 shots before getting pulled in favor of Jake Allen.

    Reese’s Pieces
Jiri Tlusty – 2 goals, 5 shots, 1 hit, 2 PIM – Now has 21 goals on the year, 5the in NHL
    Alex Semin – 1 goal, 2 assists, 3 points
    Jamie McGinn – 2 goals, 1 assist, 3 points, 5 shots, 2 hits 2 PIM
Both the New Jersey Devils and Edmonton Oilers eliminated from playoffs last night
The Calgary Flames continue to frustrate fans as they win their 4th game in last 5

    Good night for goalies:
    Joey MacDonald – 1 GA, 34 Saves
    Jonas Hiller – 1 GA, 27 saves
    Henrik Lundqvist - 1 GA, 26 Saves
    Dan Ellis – 2 GA, 35 Saves
    Jacob Markstrom – 2GA, 38 Saves
Derek Reese - Future Hall of Famer

my opponent in the finals has Rask and Elliott. I was glad to see Elliot get lit up a little. Maybe bring him back to earth for this week.

I'm glad that lazy bastard Rask finally got off his ass and did something for a change.

Agreed. Versus Florida, but hey, can't be picky at this point.
