Good lord, I am glad I am not in any of the leagues where these trade occured.
I my opinion anybody who trades AO should be throw out of fantasy hockey period.
Unless they are getting at least 7 players back. Good ones too, not scrubs.
I hope the guys that made these trades don\'t read this forum. lol

Some of these trades look horrible but sometimes its all about timing.

You could have made a killing when Huselius was hot during x-mas... would you want him now at that price... i think not.

Parise had huge value during those few hot weeks mid-season.

I cashed in on the Hossa trade-deadline madness.

Some of these deals make sense at the moment they were made but now look horrible.

    Real life: Luongo for Bertuzzi.

The Roberta-Big Bert Trade NEVER Made sense. Canucks needed to ship out Bertuzzi after a lackluster 25 goal 71 point season and one year left on his deal. Fortunately for them, they found an INSANE person in Keenan to deal one of the top THREE goalies in the NHL for Bertuzzi and all his baggage plus a goalie that is long gone and a decent young defenseman in Allen.

Luongo had turned down several offers from the Panthers because he wanted a no-trade clause. The Canucks were just in the right place at the right time but that trade would have been rejected in any fantasy league.

I laugh because Nonis was being funny when he was asked what sealed the deal and he said the sixth round pick.

He should be ashamed of taking advantage of the deranged.

Even More ABSURD is the fact that after last night the ONLY PLAYER involved in that trade that is still in the playoffs RIGHT NOW is Alex Auld.

Halfway through 06-07 I traded Selanne and my 5th rounder for the slumping Zetterberg and his 1st rounder (Espo), to a team fighting for playoff positioning. Funny thing was, I won the Pres. trophy anyway as Zetterberg then caught fire and outproduced Selanne over the remainder, although Selanne was fine. The picks and the ages made this one for me in the keeper.

A second was Radulov/Gerber (to me) for Mason/Rinne right after Vokoun went to FLA. This team had major goalie troubles at that time, and that was the offseason after Emery looked to have the #1 slot in Ottawa sewn up.

To be fair, I had a few that left me wondering what the heck I was thinking too. Example:

I gave Kunitz/3rd rounder for Konstantin Koltsov/6th rounder. Eih! It was the summer b/f I hoped Malkin came over and I was convinced they were going to use Koltsov with him to help his transition. Clear case of never trade for too many players on your fav team!!

In mid season, I traded Cheechoo for Phaneuf straight up. Had Phaneuf for about 8 great games, then traded Phaneuf, Demitra, Gagne (before any concussions), Little and Kessel for Crosby and Perry. That helped me finish first.

And just 3 days ago I traded Perry and Hudler for Phaneuf and Carle (that one isn\'t a fleece but just good to get Phaneuf back).
We get one of these - Don't waste it.

I would agree with CrazyNuck. It is all about timing and a teams need at any given time.
Some deals look lopsided ( some just are ) but what were the circumstances surrounding the trade? Was it a deal that gave up young promising youth for a hot vet and a run at a fantasy title? It is all about winning isn\'t it?
I take issue with the subject of this thread
    \"best fleecing you\'ve ever done\"
If you\'re fleecing guy\'s it won\'t take long for all your trading options to dry up (once bitten, twice shy) and soon when you need to address a hole in your line-up you have limited options or your going to have to overpay to fix the \"FLEECING\" of a previous deal.
The best deals are done when giving value to get value in return and leaving the door open to future deals.
Just my opinion and trading philosophy.

I tend to agree. In my first year when I was a bit of a noob I got fleeced pretty bad by a guy at work I trusted (a manager actually if you can believe it). I gave Zetterberg+ for Toskala to address my goalie woes. Now even though I think my knowledge of player value is A LOT higher, I am still immidiately on guard when he sends a trade over and have yet to send anything his way. The harshest part is I am fairly sure he knows how badly he fleeced me because the offers he has sent over since have been ridiculously lopsided. AKA my Crosby for his Zubrus, Cleary and Kaberle. I still get along with him and I don\'t hold a grudge- all is fair in fantasy hockey- but I will definitely think twice about making any kind of trade with him!

Thats why I like to be in leagues where all the GM\'s are knowledgeable hockey fans and lop-sided trades don\'t occur without the GM getting fleeced in most ppl\'s eyes having a plan.

It is not the NHL where Profit is the bottom line for you and your team.

Any and All fleecing should be frowned upon and not celebrated. Who the heck wants to be in a league with Hockey Morons that can be fleeced just so you can feel the egocentric joy of winning? Have fun congratulating yourself after those league championships.

Even \"Experts\" make trade mistakes that upon retrospect look like fleecing. That is just a BAD DEAL, and everyone makes those.
