Because the season is over. Who cares who's in nets? Lehner is a stud. He should be in the NHL. Just roll with him and the young players. It's only for 2 months anyway.

Lundqvist got the starting gig right away by the way.

Yeah there's plenty of vets toiling in the minors you could probably get as a throw-in I'm sure. Help teach the youngins a thing or two this year.

Lundqvist is a freak. I think most GM's are afraid of Steve Masoning their goalies now.

I think it would be smart to explore dealing Anderson right now. He could negatively affect your draft position for next season with how well he is playing!

There is a limited market for goalies to be sure though. Forget Florida, they have Markstrom in waiting and he's a better heir apparent than Lehner (which is why Luongo is NOT going to Florida).

Im saying Washington....Not because it will negatively affect their draft position....They won't care much about that....but because as stated above, their season is over, Lehner is ready and Andersson is playing lights out right now. It makes sense.

I say Florida because I don't think Markstrom is ready and I don't think he's as good as he once was hyped as.

Markstrom is 23 years old and Lehner is a baby at 21 years. Still very young to be NHL number ones. Look how long it took Cory Schneider to finally be considered "the man" (you know, as much as he can with Luongo STILL in Van City). He's 26.

The Tim Thomas path is definitely the model for developing goalies, shout out to all the 32-year-old rookies!

    Got me thinking.....

When goalies were considered 'the man'.

    Lundqvist was 23
    Luongo was 22
    Quick was 23
    Rinne was 26
    Ward was 22
Rask is 25 (but was 'the man' in 2009-10)
    Price was 23
    Crawford was 26
    Hiller was 27
    Miller was 26
    Fleury was 21
    Niemi was 27
    Bryzgalov was 27
    Brodeur was 19 (wow)

I think that would be a bad idea for Ottawa. Keep Anderson and wait this season out. He will give them their best opportunity to win next year. Not an inexperienced goalie. I think they should consider playing Bishop more though. He should be given an opportunity to show what he's made of so they can move him and make room for Lehner.
