Appreciating the fact that Cooke has cleaned up his game, why on Earth does this have to happen to someone as talented as Karlsson instead of a dirty guy like Cooke or Marchand? There's no justice in this world.

Me too! But I don't call this a wash, despite being a Habs fan, I like the Sens and if the Habs don't win I'd love to see the Sens lift a Cup (especially for Alfie).

If they got MacKinnon or Jones you're looking at a future dynasty...

You must be one tough son of a bitch. Don't expect ppl to limp after getting a laceration. Back of calf there is just skin and then Achilles tendon. Not like the thigh where have muscle covering it.

When I used to set people's broken wrists, it was always the big macho youngs guys that whimpered/cried, and never the old ladies.

    Would be scary.

Unfortunately, (or fortunately) I still see Ottawa stealing wins with MacLean and Andersson!

I've met Cooke too. You grow up in Windsor Loch?

EDIT: Funny story, used to play pick up with Cooke and Glenn Crawford (Captained the Spitfires back then.....Im pretty sure). Always thought Crawford was the better player.

Let's all stop the whiny bitching back and forth, and all hope that EK is ok.

The NHL needs its stars on the ice, not lying in rehab. To a speedy recovery EK

i wonder if this will be one of those moments that causes an injury that puts more awareness on something like this..kinda like the Crosby and concussions, or leaving helemts on when fighting, or foot guards on top of the skates.

toally agree with this! its often the people you least expect who have the nuts when it comes down to it. Also, people have grown progressively less 'hardy' and 'tough' over time for the most part, its crazy.

I remember when I was a little kid, probably 5 or 6 yrs old, we lived next to this old couple. The old guy was late 60s or early 70s at that point and a crotchedy old bastard (think 'get off my lawn you damn kids' kinda guy). Anyway, one day he's out sawing wood with a bowsaw (if you don't know what that is, its a big-toothed saw for sawing logs, like this: http://i.imgur.com/pv0vYUX.jpg). His blade slipped and he cut off 90% of his thumb (just hanging by skin really). For whatever reason, we were the only ones around to take him to the doctor, and I remember my mom is freaking out because this dude basically sawed his thumb completely off...I'm too young to appreciate how serious this is and I think its scary but also sorta cool -lol.

Anyway so we get him to our small town GP and I was along for the whole thing because there was no one else to watch me. My Mom tells me to not to watch but I sneak looks the whole time. Anyway, the doc goes to sedate him or give him some anesthesia because he has to have his thumb sewn back on and he doesn't want him to go into shock. The old ****er declines it all, and just asks the doc to fix it for him! So the doc is aghast of course but he doesn't have much choice, he can't not act on this or the guy will lose his thumb. So the doc stitches his thumb back on the whole while the old guy watches him do it and talks to him like it aint shit. My Mom is still freaked out, I'm sneaking looks at the whole thing and pretending not to...it was gnarly!

    Cut Achilles... BARF!!
If you want to fill the top half of your barf bag, you should watch Nerlens Noel's knee injury from yesterday. I'd be surprised if he can play ball by 2014.
