Watched King Richard last night. I love docufilms and this one was a good one. Interesting to see how controlling Richard Williams was with Venus and Serena and how right he was with them and their careers too.

Richard Jewell. It's about the 1996 Atlanta Olympics. 7.5/10. It wasn't that suspenseful, but the acting was solid, the writing was solid. For me those 2 really make or break a meh storyline. I wish they touched more on the real bomber and how they caught him, but they didn't. Happy I watched it on Netflix and not in the theatre.

It sure looks good, and the cast is awesome. Jesse Plemons especially.

I will definitely watch it soon.

Old Henry is a pretty good little Western. Don't watch trailers for this one though, apparently it gives away everything. Don't even read a synopsis if you can help it.

"An action western about a farmer who takes in an injured man with a satchel of cash. When a posse comes for the money, he must decide who to trust.".

I just watched The Suicide Squad (2021 version) and I actually heavily enjoyed it. It was like a Marvel level of jokes, but DC level of gore. I enjoyed it.

Don't look up. Meh, not my kind of flick. A clumsy and satire look at how our current society would handle a planet ending meteor strike. First 10 and last 10 mins are fine, the remainder is boring imo. 5/10.

Enjoy Malignant last night (any horror fans around here or J. Wan fans?). Solid 7/10 for me. A little more strange than scary. For the 18+ crowd.

Would like to check out: The Green Knight and The Last Duel.

Hockey Pools? Too many to mention. Points only, salary cap and dynasty.

Don’t Look Up - 7/10 - I enjoyed it, not sure why it’s gathering so much hate online. It’s a slightly hamfisted allegory for the climate crisis but it has its fun moments. A lot of parallels to the response to the pandemic as well. Maybe it’s hitting too close to home for some.

Free Guy - 6.5/10 - It’s was fun but I feel like I would have enjoyed it more if I was still a gamer (haven’t bought a system since the Xbox One) . But Ryan Reynolds is entertaining as always

Death to 2021 - 6/10 - Was stoked to find they had done this as the 2020 edition was hilarious. But this one felt like a rehash. Entertaining and worth a watch but not as clever or funny as the first one.

Aladdin (2019) - 9.5/10 - it’s been a long time since I watched the original but it was a favorite as a kid. I remember visiting my 18 year old sister in the city and she took me to see it in theatre when I was about 8 so it was a pretty magical childhood experience. I thought the remake did the original justice while updating it a bit for a modern audience. The visuals were fantastic and Will Smith really made the genie his own while paying homage to Robin Williams.

The Santa Clause - 7.5/10 - Watched this with my 6 year old as it was another childhood favorite. The nostalgia wore off a little bit though and I forgot just how much of the movie is about people not believing in Santa, so was likely a little early to introduce to my boy. He fell asleep early though so no harm no foul. All in all still a fun watch but I will probably wait a few years before re-introducing it to the boy.
