Finally got around to watching the new Avatar movie. It's long (just over 3 hours) but it was worth the time. I enjoyed it. 7.5/10

"Cleavage is like the sun. You can look, but dont stare.. Unless you're wearing sunglasses."
I watched Aftersun last night.
... (pause)...
I like numbers so I'll explain this movie with numbers.
If 100men watch this movie, I'd say:
60 will find it boring
30 will find it interesting, but slow (because it is)
10 will have it hit very, very, very hard**
It's a great movie - and film critics loved it - but you really have to be able to try on the entire gamut of human emotions to probably "enjoy" it.
I watched The Town for the first time and it was good besides the relationship between Ben Affleck's character and Rebecca Hall's character. Omg that was so dull. Their scenes would legit put me to sleep. I don't get how it got a 92% on Rotten Tomatoes.
I wish they had more Blake Lively honestly.

Finally watched The Menu. It was definitely different and that's what kept me entertained.
Saw AIR on Amazon last night. Thoroughly enjoyed it. 9/10
Ya lol. I saw it in the theatre 4 days before it ended up on Amazon lol. I was kinda mad at that.
The movie was good, I felt like I would have enjoyed it more watching it at home. I knew most of the story, and I felt they left out some details that would have made it better. But it's def worth the watch.

Wife and I saw the new Guardians 3 movie last week. We started dating 10 years ago and used to see all the MCU movies in theaters for dates. We wanted to see it just to finish the trilogy as most of the Marvel movies after Infinity Wars never looked good imo. They went in a weird direction with this one, kind of dark tbh, but it was fun. I would give it 6.5/10. Nothing to write home about, but a good way to end the trilogy and fun movie that doesn't make you think whilst being entertained.
I watched the Tetris movie last night. I'd give it a 8/10. Great trip down memory lane. In fact, it prompted me to download the game on our Switch lol! Really cool look on how the game that took a lot my childhood time came to be in America. Some of the story was embellished , but hey it is Hollywood. I would definitely recommend even if you didn't play the game as a kid/adult in the late 80's/early 90's. Fascinating look behind the scenes at how communism in the USSR operated when directly confronted with capitalist ideals. Side note, had no idea Robert Maxwell was a part of the Tetris story. The fact they portray him as the true scum he really is is a huge plus.

Nike's Air (2023) - Enjoyed this one. 8/10
The Convenant (2023) - Always a Gyllenhaal fan. Solid popcorn flick. 8/10
Sisu - If you thought John Wick was an indestructible man, wait until you see the Finnish version of him. I liked this one. Small budget, 90 mins but goes hard! 9/10 for me
I can not wait for Oppenheimer.

This was my movie weekend lol.
On Saturday I saw Barbie. It's 100% the funniest movie I've seen in a long time, and was the best movie I've watched all year (and likely best in a long time). It's 100% worth everyone's money and time. It's completely self aware, and does a great job making fun of itself. 100% everyone should watch it.
On Sunday I saw Oppenheimer. What a pure Oscar winning movie. It's a legit Oscar movie which I can admit isn't for everyone. But, if you are someone who can sit through a very good movie for 3hrs and process everything for 3hrs, you'll come out of it enjoying it. I loved Oppenheimer, my fiance not so much. She liked it, but doesn't enjoy acting, cinematography, or sound design as a focal point of movies like others. She also isn't a big history nerd like I am, so she didn't get the whole scope of what happened in the moment until she was asking questions after. I also do think they didn't do a good job laying out who was who. But if they did the movie would have been 4hrs long. Like it's all white, male scientists. It can get muddled with "who is who".
Barbie everyone will have a good time. Oppenheimer needs knowledge of Dr. Oppenheimer life to follow and get the full experience. If you like movies though, you should see both as they will both be racking up Oscars next yr.

Holy shit boys. I finally watched The Whale last weekend. It is an incredible movie. Devastating, but in a good story telling way. I highly recommend it. 10/10
