Default Why did Manning choose Denver??

I realize this question calls for speculation, but I thought I'd see what kind of opinions are out there.

Perhaps I'm still just bitter that he didn't choose my 49ers, but I can't help but wonder. Had he chosen to go to SF, they would have been automatic superbowl favorites.

Was it just more money? A post-career partial ownership offer? Did he just want to stay in the AFC in the hopes of facing his brother in the superbowl (this one seems ridiculous)?

    What do you think?

The decision also happened before the season started. Nobody knows how it will all unfold once the games begin. Hindsight is 20/20.

You're absolutely right about that, but to be fair, the Niners D is relatively unchanged from last year....and it was the D that propelled them to 13-3. It would seem obvious that they gave him the best shot at a championship.

Thanks for the link RM....interesting reading. I do remember hearing that a potential post-career partial ownership opportunity was offered....but that may have been from the Titans.

I'm happy cheering for Alex Smith, but it sure would have been sweet to see Manning in red and gold.

Again, that is a paper thing in the offseason. If you watch any NFL at all you know that things often times do not carry from one season to the next. What looks good can be total garbage.
