Obviously undroppable and no point in trading him because I wont' get anywhere near full value. Do I just pick up another 2B and bench him while he "rides out" this slump of 6 for 65 (0.92 avg)?

Yeah, you'll need to bench him. This sucks because it's the second year in a row that he's done this to us...

Uggla had an INSANE second half last year...

    1st half: 43 R, 15 HR, 34 RBI, .185 AVG
    2nd half: 45 R, 21 HR, 48 RBI, .296 AVG

This year, he already has 12 bombs and 45 RBI.

    I wouldn't worry too much.

Will Lightning really strike twice? The thing is that he doesn't need to improve the HR as much, more about the other stats. I think he'll do it but on a more limited scale...

I'm actually about to cut him. Someone talk me out of it...

I live in Atlanta and watch a lot of Braves games.
Uggla is a case... honestly, he just looks like he is WAY away from making good contact a lot of the time.
It's in his head... which means he could fix it as early as tonight... or it could carry on all year.

Uggla's second half numbers aren't like other players, for this reason.
It's not like he switches it on after a certain amount of the season has passed.

You have to bench him, do it now, find a replacement.
    Don't drop him though.

Consider him the hitting-equivalent of RA Dickey.
    Great when he's on.
    Bad when he's off.

Don't worry about trying to have him active when he clicks on.
Let him put up a few big games of numbers and then add him back into your starting lineup.

I'd find a cheap replacement for the time being, but I would not drop him.

Do you guys think it's time?

I have Votto coming off the DL this weekend and Uggla is the only guy on my team who I can say deserves to be dropped.

I think it's at least considerable. His Yahoo ownership has dropped to a yearly low of 87% recently. I'd likely drop him if there was any good option out there.

I dropped him today to stream Iwakuma which was a good move for my pitching since Verlander decided to shit the bed. Of course he hits a homer and makes me second guess myself.

I'm still putting him on my watch to cut list. He has until Monday to impress me or he's gone.

    Uggla's been downright brutal.
He was 9/78 in July... batting average = .115

Fortunately, he can still take a walk... so he has some real-MLB value.

But now is a decent time to really consider dropping him. (always depends on who is available, of course)

    #1. Atlanta doesn't play Thursday.
#2. Then ATL has 3 games against PHI including Halladay & Lee
#3. And the month of Sept includes more games against PHI, WAS (8/45) this year, MIL (3/11), MIA (9/40), NYM (7/35).

Even when he does break-out (IF, big IF) he'll be down in the line-up. He's also hitting in the 8 spot and much less likely to score runs.

    Yeesh.

I hear that....but at the same time who is available at this point as a 2B replacement!?! The best available for me is Kyle Seager.
