    Sproles
    Hillis
    Maclin or... James Starks (!)

I'm not sold on Josh Freeman anymore.
TB's offensive line seemed pretty shaky last year.
He'd be a guy you'd keep to "try" to contend... but you certainly won't parlay him into any trade value - and realistically, you have no shot at winning with these keepers... so why keep Freeman?

RBs are always big value, especially in NO & KC.
With the NO situation, they should be leaning on their veterans (set systems) a little more... and I think this could be good for Sproles.

I'd keep Maclin almost just to dangle him in front of the Vick or D.Jackson owner.

As a home run shot, maybe GB goes with Starks this year... but you'd have to wait a little closer to camp.

ps. On a scale of 1-10, my fantasy football knowledge is about a 3... so take that FWIW.

    I'm gonna beg to differ...

Freeman may not be the best option out there, but in any league a GM needs a QB, and Freeman is the starter in TB. Issues in 2011 aside for the moment, he's had another year of seasoning, has extra weapons this year in V-Jax and Martin, and the offense as a whole is on the uptick.

Hillis peaked in 2010. Doubtful you will see those numbers again AND Charles - while having IR issues of his own - is still in Hillis' way. I see Hillis as a solid depth or #2 guy. But no one ya can't get on re-draft.

As far as Packer's RBs keep an eye on Alex Green. I believe he is the sleeper on that team and the one who will ultimately get the #1 role. Let some other GM deal with Starks.

In a PPR or Flex league I like Sproles. Very reliable as a flex option.

I keep Freeman, Maclin, Sproles -with an eye on upgrading my QB.

Thanks guys, rep to both of ya! My FF knowledge is around a 2 to 3 as well Pengwin7 and thanks Bomm, those three you listed were the ones I was thinking of keeping but I was on the fence with Freeman.

My only thing with Freeman is that I was looking at players that you might be able to flip for trade value.

Teams are always looking for RBs & WRs during the season.
I'd just be surprised to see anybody needing or wanting Freeman during the season.

But as far as trying to "compete" goes... yeah, Freeman is a wise choice.
(I was attacking this more as a rebuilding situation for you... instead of "competing")

Good points, all. We were coming at it from different angles which is always a plus, imho.

Freeman certainly isn't a top tier QB, and I would definitely plot and scheme to upgrade at that spot. But in the meantime, I'd keep him.

Thanks again guys for all the help. I'm pretty sure the top at least 12 QB's are going to be kept if that makes a difference.

    Default Good convo

I think the consensus is pretty strong here - Freeman (better than you think now that he has a WR1 added to their roster in Vincent Jackson) + Sproles + Maclin

The 4th choice for me would be Mendenhall but with his injury, why bother?

Plus preserving QB, RB and WR leaves you open to take best available - finishing last you should have first pick, right? You may get a top 25 player with that pick so you'll be in this.

Change your team name 'Worst to First' and start getting an attitude

Not sure if individual players return yardage counts. If it does you should definitely keep sproles (which you should anyway). I also agree you should keep freeman. In a 16 team league you'll be hardpressed to find someone better in the draft. And keep Maclin, remember he had that illness coming into the season last year and should be much healthier and hungrier coming into the season this year.

    Maclin
    Sproles
    Freeman for me

Considering you'd probably be able to do better than Freeman in the draft, I'd go for depth at RB, which is priceless. Sproles, Mendenhall and Maclin would be my picks.

Forget Hillis, he's backing up Jamaal Charles in KC now.

I have the 3rd overall pick by virtue of a tie in week two. Two other teams tied for the worst record overall but 3rd is still a good pick.

Mendenhall may not even be back by mid season, and, even if he is they will limit him out of the gate.
