I think a strong off season will help him return to a producing defensman. I am hestitant to even consider a 50+ season, but 40-45 would be a nice recovery from 6. lol
I think Green could easily get to 60 points again provided the team finds their offensive game again. (OV, Backstrom, etc)

Don't mistake opinion for fact.
With Hunter coaching, I think the likely best case scenario is 45-50 pts now. That team is just playing too conservatively. With low # of PPs now, it would be very hard to rack up pts. I'd like to see him traded.
Hate Dale Hunter.
I thought I would bring up this discussion again. Hunter is no longer with the Caps and Wideman is likely to get a big paycheck playing with another club via free agency. Does Green's stock go up a bit.

kadri and komisarek for green...DONE
I think Hunter not coaching is the first bright sign, the next will be Wideman going elsewhere, the CAPS are full of OFD and he needs to go somewhere that requires his services..
With that in mind, we have to wait and see who the coach is and what type of game the CAPS are going to play. If the coach lets Green take an offensive approach like has in the past, we might see 55 points again. (health of course is a huge factor.)

I don't see how Wideman leaving will help Green. Green was given every opportunity to keep his job on PP1 and as the #1 Dman. When Green started losing time to Wideman he had long earned his demotion. At least you know with Wideman that he isn't as much competition for Green but if one of Orlov or Carlson gets improved opportunities you could see one of those guys run with it and keep the top job. As for Hunter leaving the team, Green sucked before Hunter. If Green improves its by his own hard work and determination, not because some coach treats him special and gives him every opportunity in the world.

Biggest factors for green are health (full recovery) and coach.
A lot of the same comments / arguments about injuries & underperforming were being said about Malkin for the two years prior to this one. That worked out rather well for those who didn't panic and held on to him.
11 team Keeper league (since 99/00)
23 player roster (16 active / 7 bench)
11 Fwd, 4 Def, 1 Goalie active

Green looked damn better offensively every game in the playoffs. He got his legs back, his nose for the net and his vision/timing. I fully expect him to break 50 points again next year, with potential for more.
GO WINGS!
