    Default Rick Nash Contest

According to Aaron Portzline of the Columbus Dispatch, Nash is willing to waive his NTC to go to:

    1)Boston
    2)Los Angeles
    3)New York R
    4)San Jose
    5)Toronto

List the deal for each team that it would take to acquire Nash. Lets see if any of us get it right!

    Here are my guesses:

    1) Boston - Horton + Corvo + Caron + 1st + 2nd
    2) Los Angeles - Johnson + Bernier + Loktionov + 1st
    3) New York R - Dubinsky + Wolski + Kreider + 1st + 2nd
    4) San Jose - Pavelski + Havlat + Greiss
    5) Toronto - Schenn + Kadri + Kulemin + 1st + 2nd

Personally I think he'll land in LA, Toronto, New York, Boston, San Jose (in that order)

    Nice thread Praba!

    I like Nash in SJ.

I would see Pavelski, Vlasic, Greiss and a 2nd rounder

Either way, I think if Columbus IS to move him, they need to get some young, promising talent up front, on defense and most likely nets as well...

The LA deal makes sense too (JJ, Bernier, Loktionov or prospect and a high draft pick)

Is Oscar Moller still under contract in LA despite him playing in Europe? That kid just needed a shot to play on the top line... Columbus would be the perfect spot for him

    2. Los Angeles - Bernier + Brown + Voynov
    3. Rangers - Dubinsky + JT Miller (or Kreider or C. Thomas) + 1st + 2nd
I don't see the Rangers as a viable option though
    4. San Jose Sharks - Couture + Greiss + Braun + 2nd
    Don't like it either
    5. Toronto - Gardiner (or Schenn but they'd want Gardiner) + Kulemin + McKegg + 1st

Los Angeles makes the most sense but Dean Lombardi is the devil to deal with so we'll see.

Funny story, I read a tweet the other day from a Bruins beat writer saying that Rask and Hamilton are two pieces that the Bruins should hold onto and never trade away.

I responded saying, "Didn't the Leafs technically trade away Rask AND Hamilton (selected with the Leafs 2011 1st round pick)?"

Man, we've provided the Bruins with a lot of gems and not too much to show for - exception being Kessel.

Ahhhhhhhhhhh *sigh* - Rask (stupid Raycroft), Seguin, Hamilton, and Jared Knight (solid looking prospect)

I can tell you there is no way in hell the Sharks trade either Couture or Pavelski. I don't see the Sharks landing him unless Wilson just gets it done with Havlat, Braun, and the next 2 first rounders.

I predict he'll stay but Jeff Carter will get traded instead to possibly LA or Rangers.

Not sure where he ends up. I just wanted to add that I think it's hilarious how Doug McLean from sportsnet is speculating on potential trades on the radio show in the mornings.

Isn't he the one who is about 50% responsible for how bad Columbus is? As far as I remember, he was a terrible GM, and now he's giving "advice" on what to do with Nash.

    Love it!

LA Sends Voynov, Bernier, Brown Toffili and a 1st for Nash, Savard and a 3rd...
Tor Sends Kulimen, Schenn and the Monster for Nash...

Personally, I don't think Nash is going to be sold for much more or even more than what Carter and Richards fetched this summer.
