The only thing that might be interesting is Rick Nash, most other teams who may have pieces to trade feel they're still in the hunt.

This may be the year where Hal Gill is the centrepiece deal.

The idea of Hal Gill being a centerpiece is enough to make want to intentionally strike up a conversation based in "feelings" with my wife - cringe.

Teams are learning that making a splash at the deadline does nothing to help your chances to win. So the better alternative is to stick with the group and keep the high draft picks. Depth trades will be made and a couple high-profile deals will happen along with a blockbuster surrounding some younger players, but nothing to make the internet shut down.

It sucks for us but I don't blame GMs for learning from history.
