    Default Markov?

Anybody heard anything on him? I realize at this point it has been probbly beaten to death on here but he has been on my I.R. for almost 2 years.
I have to take him off at the end of the season, league rules states I cannot keep him om I.R. during the offseason.

I carried him this past year on my roster during the summer but I think it is time to cut him at the end of the year.
What are the thoughts on him out there? I have pretty much lost hope on him beng a effective player anymore.

I dropped him last summer, after too much time/frustration. He was then selected in the first round of our league draft. I was astonished that the Habs signed him for so long (last summer) and at so much money. The risk seemed very large to me, age factor is sneaking up and Band-Aid-Boy status is now clearly full blown.

Yes, I would move on. Prepare yourself, that sometimes when you make a move like this, that you see the player bounce back later. Remember though, that his trade value has been crushed by all these injuries. No one will trust that he'll be healthy. Finally, with the better part of THREE seasons missed, it is probable that he's no longer the same splashy guy he was at the time he was first injured.

Andrei Markov is not expected back in the Montreal lineup until after the All-Star game.

Markov had successful knee surgery in early December and has yet to play a game this season after playing only seven times last year. The Habs could really use his offensive prowess in their lineup but he has been a very risky pick over the last three seasons as he only played in 45 games two years ago. Proceed with caution as he is always going to be an injury risk for the remainder of his career.

I had to cut the life support... It hurt but I just had to do it.. Too many injuries to my standard lineup to worry about his longterm issues.. Let's face it.. Dipietro was once a good option as well..

I can wait until the end of the year. I don't need to do anything until the season is over.
Maybe he will play 15 or 20 games and give me a better assessment.

I know I have to drop him if I don't see anything by the end of the year.

It hurts, yes. I traded for him right before he got his first injury. I was so excited to land him and boom he was hurt 2 game of the season and never really recovered.

Montreal interim head coach Randy Cunneyworth said Markov is unlikely to play, but he will be able to work with teammates and get himself accustomed to the team's systems. "He hasn't been cleared for contact, but when you see him getting some contact, you'll know he's close," Cunneyworth said.
