Makes sense, 24/7 will be over in days so they don't need him anymore, lol.

11-3-1 with Avery in the lineup this season
    11-6-3 without him

Just when I was starting to like Torts they go and do this...

Those stats are so close, it could hardly be attributed to Avery's presence. Look at the Stars stats without Goligoski, now that's a big difference.

The whole "Rangers play better with Avery in the lineup" theory is pretty ridiculous.

They don't call him Sean Wavery (waiver) for nothing.

The stats are closer this year than in the past (I simply am too lazy to dig those up) but you're basically looking at a .500 team without and division leaders with. The thing about Avery is that you notice him when he plays and for a good reason, he's either creating havoc in the offensive end or getting under everyone's skin and visibly taking people's attention away from their game plan - when he is allowed to play his game. Guys like him have a valuable, if despised, role in the league. The Rangers are a very improved team up front but guys who play tough (Callahan, Prust) and beat their opponents down physically over the course of a game are not the same as guys like Avery who knock them off their game mentally.

Either way, moot point, he's probably not coming back after this and I'm not the only one who will miss him.

We'll know what's at fault if the Rags go on a losing streak

    Not looking too shabby tonight.
