my take: love the east/west tandem in Howie/Elliott and Howard should rack up nice points, BUT I am really hoping to build around my young core of fwds and D and Granny certainly fits that. Hate to sell low, but Burakovsky has kinda replaced him on my depth chart, so I would be looking at my #5/6 fwd for Howard. Goal heavy league too, so assist machine Granny slightly less valuable.

Still, guys like Harding and Scrivens are sitting on the wire and could be had for my worst guy, and I can keep my core intact.

As you can see, I am torn - help me out!

    Thanks

EDIT: ended up landing Andersen without touching Granny so dilemma averted. Would still love to know what is going on with Granny though
The wild powerplay is still bad(ugh) and Pominville is having trouble hitting the net. He had a goal in Dallas and hit the post against ST. Louis . That line seems to be back to form though so I would think they would have to break out at some point.

What a sweet goal by Charlie Coyle tonight against the Oilers. When he put the puck in the net, he was almost at the end boards! Great reach to stuff that one in. Looks like it might be the GWG.

Didn't see the goal, but was happy to see him on the boxscore -- been a bit of a disappointing season production-wise.
Hopefully he has a 4th year breakout next season (I think it'll be year 4) and does a bit more than .5 PPG.

These pesky Wild just never seem to give up in a hockey game.. It's not the most entertaining style but it sure is effective and very hard not to respect the work ethic that every single player dishes out every night!! Go Wild!!

The Wild defense looks set for the next decade or so.

    Suter - Brodin
    Scandella - Spurgeon
    Reilly- Dumba - Folin

After Suter the other 6 are all 25 years of age or younger.

I saw this earlier today and thought it was funny enough to share. Here are the ages of the Wild's expected forward lines for game 1:

    31-23-32
    23-32-23
    31-22-23
    31-24-32

Based on what we've seen in pre-season and from beat writers, the D pairings will be shaken up this year. The Wild are finally taking Brodin off of the 1st pairing, where he was playing his unnatural right D, and putting him on Dumba's left on the 2nd pairing. The theory is that Brodin playing wrong D side has contributed to both Suter and Brodin having a subpar offensive year, and that this will get them both going again. Check out Russo's Rants, he always has the latest line combos: http://www.startribune.com/wild-fina...ers/330880741/

I saw that. I was watching the Flames/Canucks preview last night on Sportsnet and Doug McLean said that he thinks the Calgary Flames have the NHL's best defense. Then they showed the Flames defense pairings:

    Giordano/Hamilton
    Russell/Wideman
    Kulak/Engelland (Brodie on IR)

I think the Wild defence is leaps and bounds better than that with

    Suter/Spurgeon
    Brodin/Dumba
    Scandella/Folin

Personally, I'd take the Flames D but the Wild D corps is definitely solid.

J.Zucker is available in my league (points only). He seems to play solid hockey right now. Any comments on how he's playing?
