Over two years since the last Nashville post, so maybe not the most followed team.
They're probably the largest disappointment of this season. Buffalo and Vancouver doing their usual stuff, but I expected more from Nashville and had them securely in a play-off spot. Brunette hired quite recently, in 2023. Major assets signed this off-season. Barry Trotz being patient. Has to be considered a lost season by now still.
Seeing the Crosby goal from last night, and the Ryan McLeod goal from the night before - they weren't great looks for Nashville.
Something has to happen before the deadline. Coaching change? Tear-down?
I wonder if Trotz's best path forward is just a very soft reset. Sell off Nyquist, McCarron, and maybe ROR if you get a great price. Continue down the road to a top-5 pick which is exactly what their system lacks. Then in the summer they can use some of their pick excess to add one more top-six forward with control, and the window is wide open from there.

(No I don't have a hockey problem...)
Seems reasonable. Otoh, seeing how Detroit is doing after that coach switch, and given the expectations of Nashville going into this year, you'd have to wonder if Trotz can afford to try practically the same once again. Does the window open up again with just new top six forward? #8 in the prospect pool is nice though.
I think new coach is probably mandatory. If not for anything than a kick in the pants.
I do think they can right the ship in short order with a few moves - Stammer , Josi and Marchy another year older though.
ROR gotta move for an almost ready asset vs getting a pick. Picks wont really work with the age of the core. IMO anyway.

Not calling for a coaching change to improve my Saros fantasy stats, and I'm just seeing highlights here and there, but those defensive breakdowns that keep happening are brutal. I'm amazed by Trotz's patience in this.
what the hell is Trotz doing?
trading Novak for bunting essentially
claiming Vrana/Oesterle who are not making it happen anywhere else they've been.
going back to last year he blew it on sherwood
basically gave up on tomasino too early
this guy's got me scratching my head.
