Doughty is more of a big game guy. He may be sucking it up so far, but once we get into the meaningful games after the newyear and into the playoffs his game will go into another gear

Doesn't look very good defensively. I could take no production (I'm not a Doughty owner)...but other guys like Pietrangelo or Subban look like top pairing dmen at least even when they aren't producing, Doughty needs a coach to settle him down or something thoguh.
This is one reason why I tend not to draft "elite" defensemen within the top 10. It's easy to go from a 60 point season to one where they put up mediocre numbers. In my league, I drafted Carlson and I think it was an incredibly smart move. He kills in most categories while being average or slightly above average in points.
I knew with all the nonsense going on this summer in LA to stay away from Doughty. He essentially alienated himself in demanding so much money. Who demands they be the top payed player in the organization?

If anyone can name me one NHL defenseman in the league right now who's resume up to the age of 22 looks any were close to Doughty's I will be astonished. If he is sitting on any waiver wires that is a travesty of justice.
He turned 22 last week people. Most defenseman are not even in the league yet or are just getting there.

my league is all about immediate gratification. No one, but me apparently, has the patience to wait a player out... Ive kept Ryan and traded for Iginla, Parise, Ovechkin, Datsyuk and Staal earlier this year, and 5 seconds ago....Doughty.
I was waiting for him to hit the FA pool because i have top Waiver and I knew noone would pick him up.
I have Carlson, Byfuglien and Karlsson as D-men (Visno and Enstrom on IR). Well had Carlson...just dropped him. Carlson's hot but pedigree trumps.
I hope he starts justifying his 7 mill paycheck.
