That would be weird. I don\'t see the reasoning.
This looks to be the rumour, though not yet confirmed.

Seems like a pretty odd move to me, not sure why he\'d be the one to get the axe if this is true.
Would this mean a shake up in player personnel as well then?
That would be weird. I don\'t see the reasoning.

I\'m also not sure what would spark this movement. Although it is still just a rumor, no matter how strong it is.

I don\'t see why they would fire him - the acquisitions of Comrie, Preissing and Saprykin worked out pretty well.
But Muckler\'s and Melnyk\'s spokesman\'s statements read pretty clearly between the lines. I would be surprised, given their responses, if Melnyk were not at least strongly considering a change.
It is odd, though... I\'ll be curious to hear the rest of the story when it comes out.
T.G.
Maybe The Sens only option is to let go Muckler if they want to retain Bryan Murray\'s services. If he is really interested in the Gm job in Ottawa he maybe did not want to wait another year to move up and make changes.
This is likely a \'done deal\'. Murray did play a significant role in the development of the Anaheim team. Murray and Melnyk have undoubtedly had discussions about the shortfalls of the Senators and the direction that they want to take with filling the void. I can see why Melnyk would make the change now. Of course team politics is undoubtedly involved, as well, and it is unlikely that we will ever know the real reasons for the change.
Press announcement for later today and so far there is not a vote of confidence from the owner.
