Exclamation 1 year, stupid Sidney Crosby trade-Who wins?

Gentlemen, this trade is for this year ONLY:

    I move:
    Halak
    Kesler
    Brent Burns

    I get:
    Crosby
    Enroth
    Ryan McDondough

    League Settings:
    12 Teams, H2H, ONE YEAR
22 players, 17 starters, 5 bench positions and 2 IR spots. No games played limits. 60 MAXIMUM moves for the entire year.

    3 Centers
    3 Left Wingers
    3 Right Wingers
    5 Defensemen
    1 Utility
    2 Goalies
    5 Bench Players
    2 Injured Reserves

    Scoring Categories:

    Skating: G, A, PTS, +/-, PIMs, PPPs
Goalies: Wins, Saves, SO's, GAA, SV%

    My Team:

Centers: Malkin, Mike Ribeiro, Jordan Staal, Mike Richards, Derek Stepan
Left Wingers: Ryan Kesler, Rene Bourque, Scott Hartnell, Steve Ott(IR)
Right Wingers: PA Parenteau, Steve Downie, Marian Gaborik, Ales Hemsky,
Defensemen: P.K Subban, Jack Johnson, Ryan Suter, Joni Pitkanen, Brent Burns
Goalies: Carey Price, Jaroslav Halak, Cory Schneider

ON THE WIRE: Ian White, Grangani Stephane Robidas, Corvo, Hamonic,

So, My idea here is that, I get the two best players for this year in the deal...assuming Halak continues to blow....and I can drop McDonough for Ian White and stash him on IR and try to get a dman elsewhere...

What do you think? Do I do this deal?

I refuse to make deals with concussion players involved after mine in a Dobber league saw me sending Lehtonen/Boyle/RNH for Crosby, when my other goalie is Ryan Miller. Just great.

The thing I worry about is let's just say Crosby stays out and Miller returns soon......I think you'd be in trouble with just Price in a 12 team league.

With Luongo and Miller nursing injuries, your backup combo of Enroth and Schneider cover you nicely. As hockeyrobot indicated, when they return how can you sustain your G situation with only Price there?

Personally, I think the half-season Crosby may still play will single-handedly win you many weeks and in a H2H format that's awesome. The gap between Crosby and Kesler should well exceed the difference between Burns and McDonaugh.

I love the deal, but don't know how you plan to address the holes you'll leave yourself with in G.

Well, obviously I will have some holes in net here....BUT, I have a strategy....

My strategy is this; on the wire, there exist useless goalies(Yanni Denis, etc).

I can WIN two of the 5 goalie categories a week- GAA & SV% IF Price has ONE good game, maybe even a shutout. let the other guy win Saves & Wins and I can take the three scoring categories and PIMs(I have Hartnell, Ott & Downie, plus Subban, etc)

I think ultimately, this is a trade I have to make....just because Sidney Crosby is that good and Ryan Miller might be out for some time...not to mention, how good is Enroth? He could Tuuka Rask his way into the starting role.

I think this is a necessary risk to take in a 1 year league.

Also, Hockeyrobot, I am sorry about how concussions go, but as we have seen, it's an unpredictable thing.

I have to trust the wire about my goalies...or, my abilities to make more trades for good guys. Ultimately, I'm a headstrong league with guys who miss things.

And fun fact, about McDonaugh.....I'd plan on getting Robidas or White here soon off the wire once I made this trade.
