    Default Handcuffing Miller/Enroth

Team in sig (not 100% up to date, mostly waiver garbage swapping in/out) I have Miller and Halak as my starters, but also found Jonas Enroth on the waiver wire so I picked him up. Having 3 goalies isn't a great idea for my league setup, even though there is a minimum of 3 games started in order for the goalies stat colums to count for a week.

Do I hold on to Enroth and put Halak out for trade bait? I'd guarantee my starts this way, but I may take a hit on quality of starts if Enroth gets a few more starts. Or do I roll with the starters and drop Enroth? (The downside to this option is evident in Halak's numbers.

    Cheers!

Enroth is great, his solid stats aren't a fluke. I think a handcuff is a pretty good idea here, given Buffalo's strength this season. There are a couple times in the season (Dec. / Jan.) where the Sabres only play 2 games in a week so you'll be losing those weeks with this setup. But if you can dangle Halak and actually get a decent return then I like the Miller-Enroth 1-2 punch.

Thanks. I think my trouble lies in selling Halak. I think a decent return will be tough unless I can trade for another underperformer I think can pick it up.

I don't think you need to rush the move. This may be a good situation to let ride for a couple weeks. St. Louis as a team is underperforming and so even playing average, Halak should see some improved stats. Wait for him to string 2 or 3 wins together and then throw some offers out there. Worst case scenario, he tanks, you're left with him, but you've still got a solid tandem with Miller/Enroth. You'd just be down a roster spot for that time period. Investing a roster spot for a couple weeks could end up paying some dividends here so maybe patience is the answer for the time being.
