Default huselius liles for nash and 10th

just received this offer this morning so really have not had time to crunch numbers. At first glance I do not like giving up liles BUT if you were to tell me last season that in June someone was going to offer me nash for huselius, well you should be fitted for a straight jacket. Problem here is our pool you need 4 d men in always. Nash did look good in the worlds and will Huselius do it again. Thanks guys

Since this is basically a 2 for 2 deal I\'d think that whomever gets the best player in the deal wins the deal.

Nash turns 23 next week. Huselius is 28. So it\'s not like Huselius is old. It\'s also not like he\'s guaranteed to be a superstar at the level that Nash may get to.

I know some people will say Nash is underperforming based on his potential, but the guy\'s already won the Rocket Richard trophy. He\'s 23. He\'ll get better. Power forwards take longer to develop. I\'m trying very hard to trade for him this summer in my main keeper league.

One consideration might be if goals count more than assists or if you have a number of goal related categories because that probably tilts more in favor of Nash. It\'s not like Nash is a big playmaker so if Huselius keeps up his production it might be close points-wise, Huselius might even come out ahead. Say each of them became 80 point players Nash may be 45/35 while Huselius may be 30/50 or 35/45.

As much as I like Liles I\'d have a really hard time passing that up. I\'d most likely take it. Maybe crunch some numbers and see if you can give up a different D.

    I would do it.

Nash is a potential allstar for the next 10 years and your 5 dmen look good enough to fill the 4 spots required. Pick up another player with the 10th too.

I agree with \'derrickroul\'. You have depth on defence. It is not like you can\'t replace Liles with one of your other defencemen. You are now talking Nash and Huselius. I would be jumping at the opportunity to get Nash. As \'Dobber\' has questioned, which defenceman do you think you could get with the 10th pick? Take Nash, he is only going to get better.

Why would you trade these two guys for nash and a 10th? Huselius can get 80+ points next year and in the years following, while nash will continue to struggle (as far as I\'m concerned) as long as he\'s in columbus...

Despite whatever risk you think liles presents, he\'s a better more proven option than any of the guys that you could draft to replace him...

This seems open and shut for me... I don\'t understand why you\'re even thinking about this offer? Am I missing something?

Why would you trade a skater that\'s in his mid-twenties that\'s just hitting his prime (huselius) and a defender who\'s in his mid-twenties and is fairly cemented as the guy in colorado? Niether of these guys are old (or even close) and unless you have some sort of thing for young guys, I really don\'t think you should pull the trigger on this one...

i completely agree with lanky. no way you should make that deal. huselius isn\'t at all old, he had a great year and will do the same, barring injuries. Liles had a great year as well, getting 45ish points (scoring 14 goals, 8 of which were on the powerplay) He didn\'t even play all 82 games. He is fighting for the top d pairing in Colorado, and with Leopold as injury prone as he is, that looks even better. I say you hold onto your players, and forget the deal.
