    Default Eberle vs. Hemsky

Team and League are in sig

This league is new, first year complete and moving onto the second year, and I'm struggling with how to value certain players

Keep 7 guys, right now I have decided on 5 (maybe 6). These players would be

    M. Richards
    Ribeiro
    Gaborik
    Iginla
    Karlsson
    Bryzgalov

Now my question is, who do you think is worth keeping Eberle or Hemsky for my 7th player.

Any input could help me a lot. Thanks guys!

ps. If you have any suggestions on if I should mix up my original six I have chosen, I would enjoy hearing the input.

hmmm tough question... I think Eberle didn't have a huge rookie season so it might be safe to drop him back to the pool then snag him back up on the redraft. Hemsky has a more recognizable name that if you return him he might not come back to you.

Also the last time that Hemmer, Horcoff and Smytthy played together they were pretty lights out. I wouldn't be surprised to see that line be a very under-rated and productive line this campaign.

    I'd keep Eberle over Hemsky.

Hemsky is a sure-fire band-aid-boy and Eberle has similar upside and no real history of injuries.

probably take Eberle. Sure Hemsky is more proven, but once you get screwed over by a player (Hemsky's recurring injuries) then it's easier to cut bait.

A season of Hemsky and Gaborik does not sound like a whole lot of fun either...

Hemsky might be the guy this season, but if you let Eberle go you might never see him on your roster again. This kid is lights out and loves to play every shift, you can see it in his face he wants to be the guy to score the big G. With the oilers rebuilding and investing in Hall, Hopkinns, and Eberle as the future top line. Sit on him, he will pay off.

Eberle and its not even close for me. I would never keep Hemsky over him under any circumstances.

you probably have a better chance of redrafting Hemsky over Eberle.

    Keep Eberle.

Thanks for the responses, this only confirms how I was feeling.

The main reason that I was curious was to do with whether or not Hemsky gets traded, and if that would increase his value.

Even if Hemsky gets traded, he is still liable to get injured. Eberle is much more valuable in a keeper league

This isnt even close. It could go either way as to who helps your team more short term pending hemskys health. But eberle as an asset is miles above hemsky. His trade value is huge and will only continue to increase. Hemsky has almost no long term trade value at all so you'rw banking on him getting hot and being able to deal him then or letting him contribute to your team, which is only valuable if he's helping you make a push. Eberle wins as a keeper on all accounts.

    Keep 10. Top 13 count (4 d, 1 g, 6 Frwd and next highest-any position)
