Lil Genos time might come earlier then expected. Upshall is sidelined for the season opener.

    Go Geno take your spot!

Nice head start for the Panthers with the shutout win vs. the Islanders.

    The good:

Jose Theodore: Obvisously with a SO vs. the Isles. He played great but wasn´t tested a lot. The low shot total was cause of the great defense the Panthers played.

Brian Campbell: Highest PP TOI + two assists, and a ton of good passes. Watch out! He might still be a bargain.

Scottie Upshall: Harmonic shot at to the backpart of the head of Kopecky and Upshall stood up for his teammate. Big up!

The entire first line: Wow finally some creativy out there. They were awesome together. The Weiss goal was 90% Flash.

Jack Skille: Havoc, fire no rest full power the whole game. He had an awesome game.

David Booth: See Jack Skille, he was the most dangerous guy on ice tonight.

    Not so good:

    Dadonov and Ellerby as scratches...

Panthers lost against a injury bugged Pensteam. Rightfully though.

The Panthers are clearly missing two key players in Santorelli and Dads.

The second line looks very bad with two checking line players on it.

    The good:

Jack Skille the lone one on here tonight. He is at the moment the one that works the hardest and you gotta love his effort.

    The bad:

Kulikov looked like rookie last night made some brutal mistakes.

Jovo is obv. the worst d-men at the moment.

Upshall looked really bad last night nothing was going his way.

Carter ... should be in the AHL period and he will be when Mike is back.

how has gudbranson looked so far early on. do u think he will stay and play all year this year. from early reports i read he was handling himself quite well but i havent been able to catch a panthers game yet.

also i own kopecky in a very deep pool and i was wondering how he has been playing. i was hoping he could maybe get 45 pts this year but it seems like he is struggling. where is he fitting in ATM??

    thanks in advance

    Hey db,

don´t worry about Guds. He is playing decent and like a pro and will def. stay up, no doubt at all at the moment. Wouldn´t count on many points but he could surpise.

On Kopecky he was a suprise in the preaseason and was a non factor so far. But thats simply cause he is pushed to play 2nd center which isn´t suited for him.
The moment Santorelli is back he will find himself down on line three in a checking line role, hopefully with Upshall and Goc. He should start to produce then. But 45 points is a huge strech he will not get that i´ll promise you that. You should look for good periphals but not a huge scoring number. I think earlier on i said i´d expect between 25-30 for Kopecky, i would stay at this prediction.

    best wishes

Went to the Gatineau/Saint Johns game last night. I noticed that Huberdeau doesn't wear a letter (C/A). Isn't that kind of odd for such a high pick?

I´d love to answer you that question but just can´t. The only possible reason that i see could be that the Sea Dogs didn´t knew IF Huberdeau was coming back and decided with other captains earlier and might rethink their decision later on. But it itsn´t a huge thing to them now and they don´t want to take it away from the guys they promised it to.

Panthers win the homeopener 3-2 vs. Tampa in the shutout

The kittens played with a lot of passion and should have not needed the shutout.

    The good:

Marcel Goc: He scored the final SO goal but was noticable all night long, his efforts in the FO circle were near perfect tonight. Really awesome play so far.

Jack SKille: If the guy could score it think he would had the making of superstar if you only watched him this season. Fast gritty creating havoc. The best player in all three games. If he would not have those hands of stone...

Erik Gudbranson: Had a good night and total schooled Downie in the fight. Only punches Downie landed were when Guds left of him after he was bleeding.

Kris Versteeg: He proofs that he has a nose for the net, the best chances in the game as well. Really good games for Steeger.

    Jose Theodore:
Was icecold in the shutout and denied St.Louis,Vinny and Stammer.

    The bad:

Kulikov: Not sure what is going on with the kid, he got the assists but had a bad game. Lots of passes going wrong. I think he´s gonna be fine but right now he looks like our worst defender.

Ryan Carter: I really hope Santorelli is back soon pushing him out of the lineup, he takes unnecessary penalites all over the game and gets nothing going offensivly.

Looked like a NHLer so far. Really solid play on D and on O. The points will come. No chance he´ll get sent down.

Looks like a big nigt from Weiss-cambpell-versteeg
But my question is where is flash? I thought he was on that line and he only comes up with one assist? Anyone watching the game give me insight here please?
