Ongoing Dynasty league draft

Hey all, as we are in the midst of the dog days of summer, I thought it might be fun to post the results of an ongoing fantasy hockey dynasty league draft that I am taking part in. This is a new league, and as can be expected there are a lot of different strategies being used by the folks here in the draft. In addition to being an offline draft, you are able to make trades using your active round or 2011/2012 prospect draft picks (the 2011 prospect draft takes place after the active draft). League setup is as follows:

Scoring is G A +- PIM PPP HITS SOG and W L(negative stat) GAA SV% SO (7-5 skater to goalie split)

Updated through round 10. Defence looks like its starting to get hit hard, and some guys starting to realize that they will need a second goalie, almost all legit starters are long gone.

Two goalies going in the first two rounds total...and Lundqvist slipping to the THIRD round and Crawford being picked shortly after, BEFORE Fleury, Quick, Rinne, etc....

Haha yeah I too was a bit surprised that so many teams were comfortable waiting until later rounds for their goalies! I wasn't one of them, Toronto Marlies is me and I own Luongo/Fleury/Halak

Yeah I noticed a few of the more prospect types were taken early, Schenn though I felt was a bit of a reach at his position.

Pretty big swing between some vets Lidstrom/Visnovsky/Brodeur and some real young guys Markstrom/Johansen, pretty surprised at johansen, seems like a stretch.

I took a look at your team so far Laendarian and aren't you concerned about your RW's??

G: Luongo, Fleury, Halak

D: Green, Visnovsky

LW: Kovalchuk, Hall, Burrows, Cammalleri

C: Lecavalier, Stastny

RW: Backes

Or is Kovalchuk considered to be a LW/RW?

Either way, nicely done so far IMO. Locking up three elite goalies is huge.

Yeah RW's are on the way, I find there is a real shortage of elite RW's but a lot of depth for good 2nd tier guys, got my eye on a couple of them.

Updated through round 12. Still quite a few solid players coming off the board, again youth is served with Nino getting picked, and at this point we have basically exhausted all of the starting G's and quite a few of the higher end backups (rask/Bernier/Schneider etc).

Round 13 now posted, Kadri/Johansson the latest youngens taken, along with some vets. Rene Bourque could be a good pick with these settings.

Yeah you noticed that eh? I asked him as well, and he basically said that that's what he likes to do, start off by rebuilding, seems weird to me.

round 14 now up. Gudbranson and Kuznetsov taken, both I think are going to hamper a team for this season as I don't see significant fantasy impact from either this year (Kuznetsov not likely to play a game). Luke Schenn is an interesting pick, likely targeting the HITs category, but I feel there may be better options for guys with the combo of HITs with other peripherals.
