It's a bit messy, to tell you the truth. As long as DiPietro stays healthy, the Isles will ride him as long as they can. So after about 10 games, I expect Montoya to start getting more starts while DiPietro is on long-term IR. The Isles would love to trade Nabokov so you'd think they'd try to get him in there as much as possible so I wouldn't be surprised if he got decent number of starts at the beginning unless they trade him soon. Montoya has had an excellent pre-season; he seems to me the best suited for the starting job in the end.
I can't promise I'll try but I'll try to try.

Can you tell me your thoughts on Okposo for this season and going forward? Is 60 points possible this year?

60 points is not only possible but very probable this year. He'll get top PP time with Tavares, Moulson, Streit and likely Hamonic so expect decent number of PPP in addition to 50-60 PIM. +/- should not be a problem going forward as the Isles are a fast improving team and their collective number in this category will improve fast. I think he'll play mostly on the 2nd line with Nielsen and Grabner(like last year) but it's possible he moves on a line with Tavares (I haven't heard anything but it wouldn't surprise me if he replaced Parenteau on the top line). For his salary, if you're in a salary cap league, you've got yourself a great bargain. Going forward I see him in the 65-75 point range.

    Default Parenteau

How is Parenteau looking in camp? I know almost nothing about him but picked him up late in my draft. I've heard loose talk that he may be supplanted on the PP or on the top line but nothing solid. Any thoughts?

I cant find much coverage on Strome. Is he gonna get a nine game trial or are there more cuts coming? Thanks for your insight

    goaltending situation
dipietro is healthy so he's a green light for opening day.
how soon til he's ''day to day'' and the ball is handed to Nabby/Montoya is anyones guess.

    strome
he hasnt signed an elc yet + the lineup is pretty full & of course he could use more devlopment time in the ohl-back to niagara sometime this week

    parenteau
niederreiter had spent camp playing with JT/Moulson while parenteau was with Bailey/Rolston(or someone else besides Rolston who's been nursing a groin strain for most of camp).I have no idea if they plan on seperating Parenteau from the JT /MM line long term or if this was just a training camp experiment.

worse case scenrio , Parenteau is bumped to the 2nd pp unit .

isles dont play til saturday so I'll post who's been lining up with who in scrimmage should I come across any info.

Never, this is the year that a healthy DP rides into town and carries the work load, just as the team is ready to compete.

(That is with everything crossed and a hope that I havn't just jinxed him )

    Strome signed

    https://twitter.com/#!/StapeNewsday/...22720574181376

#Isles agree to terms with Ryan Strome on entry-level deal. Contract being finalized now, just before 5 p.m. deadline.

    Pandolfo signed

    https://twitter.com/#!/StapeNewsday/...23866743246848

Also news that's been out for a bit on #Isles: Jay Pandolfo signs a 1-year deal, believe it to be for near vet minimum of $570K.

to my surprise , Strome might stick for 9 games

''That leaves a 23-man roster. Ryan Strome signed his entry-level deal just in time; he not only gets to stick around the big club, he's an injury away from playing. It's unlikely he'll stay beyond the time it takes Niederreiter to recover, but Strome isn't going back to juniors just yet.''

Islanders announce 23-man roster. Strome has made the team.

you think this a 9 game look?
or is everyone's "this year's skinner" prophecy coming to fruition?

I'd put my money on the 9-game look. The fact that Nino is on IR had a lot to do with making this try-out happen. Of course, if Strome starts scoring like Skinner did last year, he could stick around.
I can't promise I'll try but I'll try to try.

panthers outworked / outplayed the isles last night for almost 60 straight minutes.

montoya made some nice saves to keep is closer than it really should have been .
