I like the Killer Bs line and the poetic device formed by Pulock and Pelech...Pallock and Pillik and Pollock and Pelleck and I swear if you say them both really often and really fast they basically become the same name. Love when that works out lol.

I would imagine: Lee-Bailey-Eberle + Barzal-Leddy but they could shuffle some guys around. Pulock will get some looks with PP1, and so should Beauvillier.

Yeah that seems right. Pulock was starting to get consistent time on PP1 near the end of last year if I recall correctly. I think they might pair Leddy and Pulock on the PP as well and bump one of the forwards to the second unit. Was Lee a net-front man last year?

Anders Lee named Isle's new captain. I would expect an extension coming soon.

Arthur Staple reported yesterday on the athletic that Sorokin is interested in coming over to the NHL next year. Also stated that there have been no contract talks at this point with Lehner. Finally, he noted that Sorokin and Bobrovsky are quite close and share the same agent...

    which do you prefer
    A) bob at 8/9 mil x 7/8 years with sorokin on his short elc of 2 seasons
What if the kid steals the job by season 2 or 3 and your left with an untradeable Boborovsky because of the cap hit and term left .

B)lehner extended at lets say 4 m x 4 years with greiss as his backup (one year left on contract after this season)and sorokin simply finishing his KHL contract and coming over in 2020 . The 20-21 season you'd have Lehner + Sorokin and if the kid slowly makes Lehner expendable in years 2 or 3 then you can trade Robin because his contract isnt an albatross .

Islanders would be very, very silly to sign Bob. Look what Lehner and Greiss are able to do behind this defense. Don’t waste stupid money and term on a goalie when you’ve got great options already and one of the best prospects in the world hopefully on the way.

Couldn't agree more. Lehner, up until he hit rock bottom last year, has had some decent seasons on a bad Buffalo team....no reason to think his recent play is a complete anomaly. I'd rather see them pay Panarin. Considering what his options were last year, I could see the Isles and Lehner coming to a mutually beneficial extension.

Interesting to read today that Oliver Wahlstrom informed BC that he wasn't coming back to school next year.

No word on where he is going yet. His CHL rights are owned by Cape Breton in the Q but I don't see him going there. He is able to sign his ELC with the Islanders and go to the AHL or he could also head to Europe. His Dad is from Sweden so there's always the SHL.

Either way, I will be curious to see where he goes. He had a crappy year at BC this past year all things considered. Doesn't mean he wont find his way but I would be a tad worried if I owned him in keepers leagues. It will probably take him longer than hoped to reach the NHL (assuming he gets there at all), especially considering most probably took him as a top 5 fantasy pick last summer in rookie drafts.

There was a good read from The Athletic's Islanders beat writer Arthur Staple regarding Wahlstom tonight for those with the subscription, with him showing concern for his future.
