This is the Islanders last 3 decades summed up in 5 words.

I hope JT gets a shot at some real success - I don't see that happening with the Isles. Yeah he's a character guy, so was Marcel Dionne. It would be a shame to see him spend the rest of his career hoping for a shot at the playoffs.

But this could also be like Jarome Iginla.. It was sad seeing him go to Pittsburgh, Boston, and then Colorado.. I hope JT stays and him and Barzal can lead that team to some success.. I don't want to see Tavares in a Sharks jersey..

Yeah it has to be the right fit. Maybe that turns out to be NY (funny, I thought of Iggy when making that post. Great minds and all that).

How about an Avs jersey? Kings?

just going to put this here

The Islanders are 1-7-4 in their last 12 games
Consider Sim Hockey because guys who play shutdown minutes, deflect shots and clear creases build championships. Yet in fantasy they litter the unwanted UFA lists.

Tavares has only 2 goals and 7 assists in those 12 games, 3 of which came in his last game. JT clearly hasn't been the player he was in the first half of the season when he was tearing it up as was the team

It would be a huge step back for the franchise. I think he'll stay.

I sincerely hope Isles fans don't have to see Snow stay & Tavares leave. As much as I enjoy watching Snow's incompetence as a fan of a division rival, it's gone on too long.

I think a fresh start is coming but we're only a few weeks removed from the owners allowing snow to spend 3o million on Bailey so consider me confused as hell right now .

Interesting piece in the Post today

    https://nypost.com/2018/04/09/the-is...n-free-agency/

when Snow was asked about his 12 years in charge, with four playoff appearances and a single series victory to show for it, he performed his trademark sidestep maneuver. Snow defended his own job worth by rambling about the draft picks he made and the current prospect pool — the pool which supplies AHL Bridgeport, which missed the playoffs and won’t win a series for a 15th straight season, setting a league record. (Mind you, the Islanders themselves have won one playoffs series since 1993.)

Snow really needs to go. More gofundme's for more billboards are needed

The Islanders need somebody from this board to send a resume to the owner, with the bullet points in the cover letter being:

    1. I'm not Mike Milbury
    2. I'm not Garth Snow
    3. I will work far cheaper than they do/did, and cannot have any less success.

At least the owner, at the press conference, did not say Snow was safe. Everything is under review. Not sure I've heard that in NYI for a decade

The Isles are reportedly kicking the tires on KHL Gagarin Cup-winning goalie with Ak Bars Kazan Emil Garipov. https://www.lighthousehockey.com/201...-grapov-voynov
