As far as Perry goes, I might expect a little drop-off but not much. If you take a look at his numbers:
    His first 45GP 23G 45Pts 80PIM
    His last 37GP 27G 53Pts 24PIM
So basically if he stays out of the box, he knows how to put the puck in the net. Bear in mind though that for the last few stretches of games RPG were playing 26+ minutes a night. I don't expect that to continue unless the Ducks are fighting for a spot again towards the end of the season.

    Jeff,

Great to see someone talking about my two favorite things: Hockey & the Anaheim Ducks. I don't ever post on these forums, but this was worth a thought. I too watch every game, was at all of the cup finals games, and like many readers, I own a few Ducks on my dynasty team...no list in my signature sorry. I have some thoughts on a couple prospects, and would love to get yours:

Peter Holland - seems to me that he has 2nd line upside (as do DSP & Etem...those as wings they just might get a shot at the top), with Getzlaf & Perry owning the top line...Koivu has 2nd line next year, and Cogliano has every chance to pick it up the following year.

Sami Vatanen & Justin Schultz - these guys are essentially fighting to take Visnovsky's spot when he leaves right? But, so will Luca Sbisa. Fowler is essentially a lock on the top pair as long as his defensive game develops. Worst case scenerio Fowler turns into Marc-Andre Bergeron; better scenerio Mike Green; best case Scott Niedermayer

Matt Beleskey? - I am not sold on this guy. He has had too many chances with too little success. I know he doesn't get a ton of time with Getz and Perry, but when he has, he hasn't capitalized. We need someone else to step up, are there any of the young guys capable? As you said, Carlyle loves to move Ryan down, either to the 2nd line when one of them is injured...or some are saying to the 3rd line with Cogliano.

I'd love to hear anything and everything.

    I'd have the lines as:

    Ryan-Getzlaf-Perry
    Blake-Koivu-Selanne
    McMillian-Colgiano-Palmieri
    Beleskey-Bonino-Parros/Gordon

    Sexton's in the mix too.

Welcome, looking forward to your contributions.

Peter Holland - I agree has 2nd line upside. From everything I've read he's not consistent enough yet. He doesn't skate hard every shift/game. He won't make the team this year. Hopefully continues to develop. Getzlaf has the same problems and turned out pretty good though.

Beleskey - I am not sold on this guy either. He never clicked with Getzlaf and Perry, and injuries have derailed him when we needed him the most. He has a quick shot, but otherwise I haven't seen much. If he doesn't come out of the gates flying I could easily see him not finishing the season on Anaheim (whether it be by waiver claim, trade, or demotion). I have him slotted for the 4th line.

DSP - Not gonna lie, didn't know much about him till this off-season. From everything I've read though he sounds exactly like what we need right now which is why I say he has an outside shot at making the team. Potential 2nd liner, probable 3rd liner with great 2-way game and grit.

Fowler - really, really high on this kid. Don't forget the playoffs in which he was one of our best defenseman both offensively and defensively. No way does he turn into MAB, and he's in line to take Visnovsky's throne. (Though he doesn't have the cannon Vis does, but then again neither did Niedermayer)

Schultz I mentioned I think will be in the NHL after this season barring any setbacks/huge signings. I believe Foster only has one year left on his contract.

One thing I forget to mention. The Ducks internal cap hit is about 56 million.

With 710,000 in bonuses still left to account for if I'm reading it right. So signing Selanne to 3.5-4, and Cogliano to 1.0-1.5 puts us up right against the budget. Meaning I don't think we see much if any other FA signings.
With internal budget you need to look at the actual salaries, not cap hits. The number above you took from capgeek is the total cap hits which doesn't really matter to Ducks; what matters is the actual salaries paid next year. Blake and Sbisa for example are making significantly less money than their cap hits are next year. Capgeek doesn't list the total amount of actual salaries paid so you need to look those up yourself.

Also Cogliano got much more than you expected. 3 year deal with a cap hit of $2.39 million.

News today, which I'm sure you've already heard is Andrew Cogliano signed a 3 year deal with a 2.39 cap hit. Breakdown is as follows: 2011-12: $2,150,000 2012-13: $2,350,000 2013-14: $2,670,000. Maybe Cogliano and Koivu will be played as 2a and 2b lines. (That's what I think they should do anyways).

    @Carcillo:
Yes your right, for some reason I wasn't thinking. I'll have to look into how close they are.

As for Cogliano, it was a surprise to a lot of people. After making 1 million last season, I would expect a slight raise, but not more than 2 million. Though with the rise in the cap, the contracts are rising.

Cogliano's words on the signing earlier this morning:
“I’m really happy,” Cogliano said. “This is probably one of the best moments in my career. I’m able to sign a three-year deal with a great team that I want to be with. I want to be on a winning team. I think this is the perfect situation for me.”

"I wanted a situation where I didn’t have to think about a contract for three years. Now it’s time for me to prepare myself, come in and help the team."

“At the end of the day, that’s why they got me. I can put all this stuff behind me. This has been going on for me for a couple of years now. I’m fully focused on training, getting better and improving coming into camp.”

Glad to see the Pacific Division almost entirely represented here on Dobber. Definitely a number of fantasy relevant players in Anaheim.

Anaheim Ducks have signed center/left wing Mark Bell to a one year two-way contract. NHL salary: 575,000 AHL salary: 105,000. Interesting to note that Bob Murray originally drafted Mark Bell when he was the Chicago Blackhawks GM in 1998. The former 8th overall pick hasn't played in the NHL since the 2007-2008 season when he was a part of the Toronto Maple Leafs. His career in the NHL went south when he was involved in an accident due to drunk driving. He then played two seasons in the AHL before playing in the Swiss-A league.

No more than a depth signing, he could see time as the 4th line center should Bonino fail to crack the roster, but most likely lands in the AHL. Don't expect him to be fantasy relevant any time soon.

Thanks for posting that video Jeff. Its a great compilation. My favourite was the one at 1:40 against Ottawa, I remember seeing that highlight on his little Yahoo! blurb and I was just at a loss for words. The Suter one was hilarious lol, Puck Daddy did an article on his night lol.

Lol you took the part out, so i'll take this part out*
