Visnovsky (broken finger) said his wish is to play Wed vs. PHX but will need to gain clearance from doctors Tue. Will be on upcoming trip.

That's a disheartening statistic for sure. Ouch.

After last year's strong finish, I thought they'd be solid. Rough end for Selanne if they can't pick it up.

Fowler isn't playing on the 1st PP and Palmarri takes Perry s place.
Temmu is off the 1st power play.

Vis is back but no big deal so far. Getz is playing the point .Getz is at least shooting more.

Now the 2nd time around Selanne is back on 1st PP with Perry.
The idea is to feed the puck to Getzlav.

Best game the Ducks have played Visnovsky was back .
Fowler will play a little less , especially on the PP.
Good game by Hagman and Hiller.

A step in the right direction.
I don't like Getzlav on the Point but they won.

Koivu (lower body) will not return Thursday as the team hoped, according to the Ducks' official Twitter page.

Recommendation: The Ducks were targeting this week for Koivu's return to the ice, but he will remain on injured reserve for at least a few more days. Koivu is reportedly making progress in his recovery, so he'll have a chance to return to the lineup for one of the Ducks' two games next week.

Sorry to say this but the Kings game with the Ducks was the most boring game I have ever seen these to rivals play.

Getzlaf has got to go or lose his C.

It has come to the point to where the Ducks leaving the ice with a victory is akin to finding a needle in a haystack.
This has been a complete and utterly mystifying U-turn of a season. Even the opportunity of winning a shootout now escapes them as it did Thursday night in a 3-2 loss to the Kings at Staples Center.
The Ducks not long ago took their cue from former coach Randy Carlyle, who abhors the skills competition to break ties after overtime and placed as little value as he could on victories when that was needed.
But the wins have now been so few and far between, even in the transition from Carlyle to Bruce Boudreau, that the feeling of victory in any kind fashion simply appears to be lost on a team that came into this season largely unchanged from the unit that routinely pulled out victories in their crazy playoff push last spring.
Maybe this is the new reality.
Maybe there were a number of Ducks that played beyond their normal ability a year ago, masking the problems and flaws they had. Teemu Selanne has been the only player who’s at a level similar to or beyond what he showed in 2010-11.
The Ducks are 2-6-2 so far under Boudreau, which is only showing that turning them around is a much bigger task that he imagined. But at some point this team with a reigning Hart Trophy winner, a one-time elite-level playmaking center, a three-time 30-goal scorer and a potential top-five netminder has got to at least put together some kind of winning stretch.
    Right?
“If you’re not winning, it’s tough to feel good about yourself,” Ducks goalie Jonas Hiller said. ”You need that experience of having success to start feeling good about yourself. On the other hand, when we had a couple of good games, we always were never able to keep that good feeling and we kind of found a way to lose again.”
The Ducks have won just five games since leaving out of HP Pavilion on Oct. 17 with a 3-2 win over San Jose, improving to 4-1 and fooling everyone into thinking that the days of slow starts were behind them. Who could have thought it would get unimaginably worse since?
No consecutive wins since that mid-October night. Two in their last nine games. Three wins in 17 contests. Four in 24.
The Ducks are often left with the well-worn refrain of taking the positives out of each loss. Again. And again. And again.
“At this point, it’s hard to continually do that,” Ducks captain Ryan Getzlaf said. “It’s not good enough until you win. And that’s our attitude going into the second half of the season.”
We’ll see when the merry-go-round starts up again on Monday in San Jose.

No Getzlaf. No Perry. No Selanne.

Checking Ducks boxscores makes me sad.
